I’m so sorry to everyone I’ve had to cancel or reschedule with over the last week 🤍

Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my beautiful best friend of 15 years, Sally. She was the very first horse I ever owned, and we grew up together, so she truly meant the world to me. 🐴🤍

I’m back for a full week this week and looking forward to getting back to seeing everyone, although I can’t promise I won’t be a little bit tearful along the way 🥹🤍

Thank you so much for all of your lovely messages, kind words and understanding over the last week. It has meant more than you know, and I really do have the best clients 🤍

Myth: "Integrative therapies like hydrotherapy or clinical massage are just optional 'luxury spa treatments' for dogs."

THE FACT: They are essential, evidence-backed medical interventions. Arthritis may begin in a single joint, but it quickly becomes a whole-body disease. Because dogs naturally alter their posture and movement patterns to shift weight away from chronic pain, they develop severe secondary muscle soreness, tension, and joint stiffness elsewhere.

The Takeaway: Physical therapies don't just pamper a companion; they actively manage this compensatory pain, improve lubricating joint fluid movement, and safely preserve functional range of motion to slow down structural declines.

With temperatures set to rise again this week, I will be offering earlier appointment slots and I will be cancelling some appointments where necessary.
All rooms are air-conditioned; however, if you have an appointment booked and are concerned about the heat, or if your dog is struggling to cope in warmer weather, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

During this period, you are welcome to park in any shaded space available, provided you do not block other vehicles.

Your dog’s health, wellbeing, and safety are always my top priority 🐶🐾

How adorable is Scout with her fluffy face?

Scout came to me after sustaining a left hindlimb injury that was initially treated with medication, but her owner knew she still wasn’t quite right after several weeks and brought her in for physiotherapy and underwater treadmill therapy 🐕🐾

She is now back to her normal self, enjoying her usual walks and trying to find every patch of water possible!

Scout has now been discharged, although she may pop back in occasionally for a fun water treadmill session every so often. I look forward to catching up with her and seeing her continue to live her best life 🐶💜

I had a couple of fun days out at VOACON () again this year 🐾

Great to catch up with colleagues, learn more about all things osteoarthritis, and hear from some brilliant speakers. I also attended a really interesting workshop on creating orthotics in practice, so I’m excited to further develop this skill. 🐕

As a member of the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance, it’s always inspiring to be part of such a passionate multidisciplinary group focused on improving osteoarthritis care in animals.

Lots of new ideas and knowledge to take forward! 🐶💜

Upcoming Holidays 🏝️

My diary is currently full until I go away, and August appointments are already starting to fill up too, so please make sure you get your appointments booked in advance to avoid disappointment.

Bleu was referred to me following a left hind tibial repair involving plates and screws, alongside intermittent lameness. On initial assessment, he was significantly offloading the left hindlimb and had noticeable muscle atrophy throughout the limb.

After starting weekly hydrotherapy sessions, Bleu has made fantastic progress. His weight bearing has improved significantly, and he has now regained equal muscle mass.

I’m very happy to be able to discharge Bleu from physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, although his owner has chosen to continue with maintenance sessions to help keep him in top condition and support his long term mobility and strength 💙🐾
