A couple of weeks ago, we had another bat brought in.
A neighbours cat managed to catch it !
We could see that one wing was torn and a puncture hole in the other wing.
I gave it a feed and a quiet space for the night and took it to a licenced rehabber the following morning.
Tbh I didn't think it would survive the night but just look at her having her flight sessions ! If you watch closely , you can just about see the tear in the wing still but she's doing ok. Thanks to Debbie ( the bat lady ) for sending me this footage of her. 🦇

WARNING... PICS OF INJURY

A 2am admission the other night!
Meet Damson....
Fair play to 2 sisters in chapmanslade , heard Damson screaming from underneath their plum tree ( a sound that you cannot unhear 😱 its really awful).
They tried phoning round various rescues , appreciating the hour , not many answered their pleas for help. But these 2 girls didn't give up. They could see damson was injured and rather distressed. They scooped her up and I agreed to take her in if they could get her over to me in frome. So that's what they did.
A very quiet drop off was had and I can't thank these girls enough for acting quickly, having so much patience and persevering in trying to get some help and of course driving her over to me at such an hour.
These 2 girls really are hedgehog heroes and have given damson the best chance of recovery by their actions, which is so nice to see some kindness is still out there in people , after we have been hearing some terrible news stories involving hedgehogs and cruelty inflicted by evil individuals.
I have been treating damsons head injury ( possible strimmer) now for a couple of days and it's already looking so much better.
Photos attached are of damsons admission and after tonight's treatment.

Even though we specialize in hedgehogs , we will always help , where we can , with other species in need ... if it can't...

Even though we specialize in hedgehogs , we will always help , where we can , with other species in need ... if it can't be rehabbed here with us, we generally know someone who can...
Bats for example , requires a licensed rehabber, we can take them in and give first aid , then they are transported to a trusted , licensed rescue for that species.
Every life matters.
