🐾 Funny Grooming Story Time 🐾

A while back, I had a Cockapoo in for a groom who apparently decided the grooming table was the perfect place for a toilet break! 😂

One minute we were making great progress, the next... emergency clean-up mode was activated. Safe to say it wasn't part of the grooming plan!

Thankfully, these things happen, and it's one of those moments that still makes me laugh.

🐾 How Often Should Your Dog Be Groomed? 🐾

The answer depends on their coat type!

✨ Short coats (Labradors, Beagles) – A groom every 8–12 weeks helps keep shedding under control and their coat healthy.

✨ Double coats (Golden Retrievers, Huskies, German Shepherds) – Every 6–8 weeks is ideal to help manage shedding and maintain a healthy coat.

✨ Long or curly coats (Cockapoos, Cavapoos, Poodles, Shih Tzus) – These breeds typically need grooming every 4–8 weeks to prevent matting and keep them comfortable.

✨ Wire-haired breeds (Terriers, Schnauzers) – Every 6–8 weeks helps maintain their coat texture and tidy appearance.

Regular grooming isn't just about looking good—it helps keep your dog's skin and coat healthy, prevents painful mats, and gives us a chance to spot any concerns early.

Looking back at where Awesome Pawsome started in 2022, grooming from my parents' conservatory, makes me incredibly proud of how far I've come.

Four years later, I have a dedicated salon and wash room, and it's all thanks to the amazing support of my wonderful clients and their dogs and my family and friends. 🐾

Thank you for trusting me, supporting my small business, and being part of this journey. I couldn't have done it without you. ❤️

Today marks 4 amazing years of Awesome Pawsome 🐶💛

What started as a dream with just me, has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. Over the last four years, I’ve had the pleasure of grooming so many wonderful dogs and getting to know their lovely owners too — and I truly couldn’t have done it without all of your support.

From puppy first grooms to regular pamper appointments, being trusted with your dogs means the absolute world to me. 🐾

Running Awesome Pawsome on my own has been such a rewarding journey, and I’m so grateful for every recommendation, like, share, booking, and kind word along the way. Thank you for supporting my small business and keeping me busy doing what I love every single day ✂️🐕

A huge congratulations to little Rolo for becoming our May Pet of the Month! 🐶💛

Rolo has come such a long way since his very first groom, where he needed his owner by his side for reassurance, to now enjoying calm 1:1 grooming sessions with so much more confidence and absolutely no fear! ✂️🛁

I am so proud of how far this sweet boy has come. Watching nervous pups grow into confident little superstars is the BEST part of what I do 🥹✨

Such a cutie, and a massive well done to Rolo for being so brave and growing in confidence every visit! 💕

This little lady loves being the centre of attention — and honestly, she knows exactly how to work it 💛✨

Havana absolutely loves coming for her grooms, especially when there are cuddles involved. She’s always looking stylish too… with a different collar for every occasion! 🎀

And of course, we can’t forget her best friend Henry 🐶💫
