The season is here for some nasties that can cause your dog pain and lead to costly vet bills — ticks and grass seeds.

These little pests can work their way into your dog's skin, paws, ears, and even eyes. Taking just 5 minutes to check your dog after walks can help prevent a lot of discomfort and avoid an expensive trip to the vet.

In the photos, you can see a couple of grass seeds I found between a dog's toes, along with a small tick hiding on the chest.

A quick check after every walk could make all the difference! 🐾

I met this beautiful girl 4 weeks ago when she came in with a severely matted coat. Unfortunately, the matting was so extensive that our only humane option was to clip her coat very close to the skin to minimise pain and discomfort.

Today she returned for a maintenance bath, nail trim, and hygiene tidy-up. As you can see from the video, she was so happy to see me again! We enjoyed plenty of cuddles, treats, and tail wags, and it was wonderful to see how much more comfortable and confident she was.

Grooming is a team effort, and the best results come when groomers and owners work together. If you're unsure about your pup's grooming routine, please ask us! We're always happy to advise on:

When I heard from Tracey at Surepaws Doggy Day Care that these two were going to be put to sleep unless someone could take them in, my heart broke. Thankfully, this wonderful lady stepped in and opened her home and heart to them.

They are now off to their forever home, where they can live their very best lives.

What a beautiful, happy ending to what could have been an incredibly sad story.

The best part is that I'll still get to see them for their regular grooms, which makes this story even more special.

Wishing these gorgeous girls a lifetime of love, happiness, and cuddles in their new home. ❤️🐾

Oh, Toffee! 🐾😁 Always an absolute pleasure. Toffee completed his Puppy Package with us and is now enjoying his big boy grooms! He has come on so much with his confidence around me and the salon equipment. His calm and relaxed nature during appointments really shows how far he’s come, allowing me to give him a full groom comfortably. Such a good boy and an absolute star on the table! 💙
