So lucky to live where we live. Our ponies have varied, happy lives and we have the safest hacking.

Hard to beat a day like today! Spring has sprung ( well for today anyway). Everyone naked (apart from me!!!), yard work almost done. Forest and Beanie both to be ridden in the sunshine this morning. Hope everyone is having as lovely a day as me.

First competition of the year at Tillyoch Equestrian Centre. We’ve not competed here before and Forest was great. These competitions early in the year are always hard for us as we get so little riding over the winter months. Poor map reading skills on my part lost us points but we still scored a respectable 66.17% in our first official try at the Gold test and 68.7% in the silver test. Next up is a 2 day competition at The Cabin Equestrain Centre on the 21st. Jack is taking a bit of a step back so I wasn’t competing him this weekend.

Fantastic day today! Really cold but clear blue skies and sunshine. The arena was quite hard so lots of walk work and a little trot. Forest was lovely and Jack was a twit. Lots of laughs with Natalie Storey riding both boys and then Dad’s pony Prince too. Prince is such a cool pony and beautiful! Tonight we had the most amazing Northern Lights with all the colours clearly visible to the naked eye. Ponies thought we were mad running around the fields in -3c taking photos.

So proud of both the boys qualifying for the Winter Championships at the silver level. Sadly this year we won’t attend as the venue is so much further south than usual and, as it’s been brought forward to mid February, the weather is just to unpredictable for us to travel 2 days each way. I’m sad to miss it as we have competed every year and I’ll miss seeing all the para family but the boys will always come first and I don’t want to risk it for them.

However, we have big plans for the rest of 2026…….watch this space!

i am so grateful for everything that I have and am very aware of the many people and animals that are not as fortunate as us and our animals are.

If you still have presents to give to family or friends and can’t think what to give, maybe think about a donation in their names to a charity who will appreciate the help.

My favourites are:

A truly fab night out at the British Dressage Scotland Annual Ball. I was delighted to be awarded, for the 3rd year running, both the trophy for the Para rider who scored the most points in the year (thank you Jack and Forest) and the lovely rosette for the highest percentage points achieved by a Grade 3 rider.
It was so much fun to see the other para riders and also so many other people that I have met on this journey, including several of the horsescotland ADP members.

Massive thanks to Ashley Stewart for her hard work arranging the Ball and to BD for all the support they give me through the year.

Huge thanks to my bestie Conti for coming with me and making it the best night!

Happy ponies in the sun. We have had no snow lying at all this week. Amazing difference from a few miles in either direction.

Last competition of the year and what a blast it was. Our favourite venue Chapelton Equestrian Centre where the coffee, cakes and sausage butties are matched by the super friendly and welcoming people there.

Despite a chilly start at -2.5c, Forest was on form and Jack really stepped it up today and was lovely and forward. We‘ve started trying out the gold test, which we will be eligible to compete formally from January, and for the second time Forest scored 72% HC so I’m looking forward to riding it in 2026. It has lots going on in it with turns on the haunches, leg yields, medium trot, 8m and 10m voltes, so I have to really pay attention.

We are really appreciative of the venues and judges this far north, that put on these competition, often in rubbish weather, without which Scottish competitors would be seriously disadvantaged. Thank you today to Viv Graham for judging, VRB Scotland for making sure the boys are in tip top condition and Gammack's saddlery for ensuring our saddles always fit the boys and me.

Thank you to everyone else who supports me also. I am really grateful to you.

Fantastic 2 days training with the Horsescotland Athlete Development Programme at the most fabulous Bogenraith Equestrian Centre. Honestly don’t think we have been at such a lovely venue anywhere in the UK. These training days make such a difference to me and the boys. The physio with Robyn Dunn and fitness with Lauren are fabulous. I always feel more confident after sports psychology with Steph and utterly exhausted after 2 sessions a day with Harry Payne Dressage . Loads to work on for next month.
