Clymping Dog Sanctuary

Clymping Dog Sanctuary We take in unwanted and abandoned dogs and also dogs from people who cannot care for them anymore. Our sponsorship scheme supports these types of dogs.

Clymping Dog Sanctuary is a Registered Charity under the Charities Act 1960 - Charity Reg No. 279937

Clymping first opened its doors back in 1952 by Mrs Kathleen Grellier and the then Duchess of Norfolk. As a sanctuary, we aim to find homes for any waifs & strays or otherwise unwanted dogs. We want all our dogs to be properly cared for and to feel safe and loved not only in the time they are with

us but also when they go to their forever homes. Our policy is to never put a clinically healthy dog down which means we sometimes have a few long-term "stayers" until the right owner comes along. From time to time, we do have dogs we take in that have health problems that require veterinary treatment. These health problems can sometimes be resolved after a few visits but sometimes they require regular checks or medication. Sometimes we have dogs that we feel will never be homed due to their condition or behavioural problems. It costs £20 per dog per day to house, feed and care for them. Add to that any vet bills (which can be huge!) on top of this means we rely on the generosity of others to help keep our shelter open, so we can help give all the gorgeous dogs the lives they deserve. You can help keep our kennels running by fundraising, volunteering or by donating, no matter how big or small, via the link on our page. We are so grateful for any support you can give us. Please remember, adopt don't shop! Your new best friend could be waiting for you at Clymping.

An introduction to some of our amazing stalls at this years Clymping Dog show!

We are back on August 30th 10-4 for a super special day.

Our first stallholder is the fabulous Ace Of Paints - Face & Body Painting who will be with us all day providing glamorous faces for both children and adults attending!❤️

Ashleigh is an award nominated face painter and we can’t wait to welcome her back!

Having had so many long term residents for so long, we need your help more than ever to ensure they have the best life they can with us💗

It costs around £25 a day per dog, we have had 5 for a long time which makes it around £3500 a month just on basic costs.

Part of being a sanctuary means that we don’t give up on dogs even when everyone else does but it sadly comes at a cost for a small charity.

Every donation helps keeps the doors open and allows us to help others while keeping our longer residents spoilt too. If you can’t donate, every share and every follow make all the difference and we couldn’t do it all without you❤️

So as many of you know we’ve had Boss with us for a while now, we love him dearly, he does have he’s quirks which once you know him you can work with them.

Boss has had very little interest since being with us, which we find really sad.

But under every dark cloud there is a silver lining.

Boss has a very special human that comes up as much as he can to walk Boss and sees beyond the naughty little quirks. This special human is Patrick.

Patrick has walked Boss for a while now and due to work commitments can’t have him, but does some amazing things with Boss.

Not only has Patrick taken Boss for walks, but he’s also taken him to the dog park, he’s been swimming and even camping. The last bank holiday Patrick took Boss to the south of wales for a camping trip. And is even going to try kayaking with him this weekend.

We wanted to share some photos of he’s recent adventure with Patrick, just to show you that Boss can be good with patience and time is a very loyal boy.

Thank you Patrick for the love you show Boss 🐾💙🐾
