Just like that… summer at Deepdene comes to an end for 2026 🐴☀️

As the sun sets on the last day of our summer activities, it feels like the perfect time to look back at what has been an incredibly busy, fun-filled few months at Deepdene.

Alongside all of our normal lessons, we have packed in so much.

We’ve enjoyed two fantastic pony camps, a 2-hour hack, our special meet & greet celebrating 10 years of Deepdene under Chelsea, own a pony days, simulated cross country, our brilliant two-day rally, the infamous Scavenger Hunt, ba****ck lessons, a BHS Ride Safe Silver Award course, and some fantastic jump clinics. 🏇✨

This made us tired just reflecting on what we have delivered!!

There have been big smiles, new experiences, challenges conquered, friendships made and, no doubt about it memories made.

A huge thank you to everyone who has made this summer so special - our amazing staff who have worked in unprecedented conditions and temperatures, supportive parents, our amazing riders and, of course, our wonderful ponies and horses who have given us their very best throughout it all. ❤️🐴

We have certainly made the most of the lighter evenings and longer days, and while we are sad to see our summer activities come to an end, we are incredibly proud of everything our riders have achieved.

Here’s to a summer well spent at Deepdene - and to plenty more adventures to come! 🌅🐎💫

Frank’s Friday 🐴✨

Did you miss me last week people? I am sorry I was unusually quiet but with all the prepping for Area Festivals, I was simply far too busy to write my usual weekly update. I hope you enjoyed Stan's take on the world for a week (although don't enjoy Stan's posts too much).

I’ve got plenty to tell you this week though, and where better to start than with the Area Festivals last weekend. What a weekend! I was absolutely magnificent. I went out there, did my job and showed everyone exactly what I’m made of. Mum was rather pleased with me too, which always makes me happy. ❤️

Then, just as I wanted a nice easy Monday, along came Pony Camp 2…... and, quite frankly, there were far too many children, far too much noise and far too much going on.

Monday night, however, things got a little more interesting. Mum was doing my dinner and, for some reason, she didn’t put my clip on my stable door. 🤔
Well… obviously I couldn’t possibly let an opportunity like that pass me by! So I escaped my stable and joined the campers for a game of man hunt. I even had a little wander around and to check the tent area. ⛺😂

Not quite sure why one of the campers felt it necessary to announce to mum that 'Frank is out of his stable'. Needless to say, Frank wasn't out much longer. I just wanted to join in!

The ONLY good thing about Monday to Wednesday was the extra massage from Sam at SGB Equine & Human Soft tissue therapist , and thanks to her, I am now feeling absolutely tip-top and ready for Home Nations this weekend.

It certainly wasn’t the middle-of-the-night toilet trips from the campers that helped… or the security lights constantly coming on. 🙄 Honestly, some people have no consideration for a horse trying to sleep.

Thankfully, I’ve had a more gentle end to the week, with some lovely riding time with Mum. Much more civilised.

Although, she then let me down when she left Lauren and Chloe to bath me last night.

I AM GOING TO A BIG SHOW THIS WEEKEND.

And she let the inexperienced young ones bath me?! 😳. What was she thinking?!

To be fair… they weren’t actually that bad, once they stopped writing words on me. I got through the whole experience by standing on their hose to amuse myself and demanding a lick it, and by the end I was looking absolutely fabulous.

Now I’m going away again today but that's ok, the weather is cooler so I don't mind a little trip in the metal container, although mum and I have yet to discuss where we are going...... hopefully not too far.

Don’t worry peeps - I've left Stan in charge again.
He’s had some more training this week in the very important business of making sure the workers are doing their jobs properly and keeping everyone on their toes. I have to say, Stan's looking very confident in his new management role, slightly worried he will get too cocky too quickly but I will keep him in his place!!

I know he’s got this weekend covered though. 😏

Have a fabulous weekend peeps.

Love,

Frank 🐴❤️

🎉🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOLLY & LAUREN! 🎂🎉

Firstly, Happy Birthday Molly (who has only asked THREE times for her birthday post to be posted before Lauren’s 🤣🤣), and secondly Happy Birthday Lauren.

We decided the fairest way to wish you both happy birthday was to have a joint birthday post!!! We don't want to upset anyone!!

You are both such a huge part of the yard. You both bring so much energy, and happiness whenever you are with us and we hope you have the most amazing birthdays! 🥳🎈

Lots of birthday love from your Deepdene family and friends! ❤️🐴

Happy Birthday, girls! 🎂🥳🎉

And that’s a wrap on Summer Camp 2 2026! 🥰🐴

What an incredible final day to finish off three amazing days!

Today we got all the yard jobs done, ponies bathed and groomed, tack cleaned and everything ship-shape before finishing with our In House Camp Show 🏆✨

We had a fantastic afternoon of clear round jumping and a brilliant Horse & Groom competition - a wonderful, light hearted way to celebrate everything the children have achieved over the last three days.

Special memories have been made, friendships formed and confidence grown. ❤️ We hope all our campers are heading home tired, happy and with lots of stories to tell! Please do ask them about Erin and the fence!

We want to say a huge thank you to all our amazing yard workers - to those who have slept over and helped make camp possible, and to those who have supported our campers alongside normal lessons and yard jobs - the effort everyone puts in is not unnoticed. From the early starts to the late finishes, we truly couldn’t do this without you. 🥰

The biggest thank you goes to our campers for making it such a brilliant three days! For making us laugh, for being crazy and for going to sleep earlier than the camp one campers!!! 🤣🤣

Here’s to the memories, and starting to plan camp 2027 - well maybe after a shower and a good night's sleep!!

Xx

Pony Camp — Day Two 🐴💪

Let’s just say some of the campers were not quite as spritely this morning as they were yesterday! 😂

Even still….......

Jumping ✅
Lunging ✅
Unmounted games ✅
Mounted games ✅
Dog walk ✅
Rounders ✅
After dark man hunt ✅
Plus all the usual yard jobs ✅

Ruby's Team were crowned this evening’s rounders champions (at her inaugural pony camp - go Ruby) but let's just say Erin was not happy with the result!!!!

The campers are all meant to be tired by now… (we are) but there is still plenty of chatter!! Whispering skills need a bit of attention!

Day two - officially smashed it (even if we do say so ourselves) 💪🐴

Day Three… we’ve got this! 🙌

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not rain this evening! 🌧️🙏😂 We know the ground needs it, but we do not need 13 wet, grumpy children tomorrow morning or a grumpy camp mum!!!
