Gorgeous Jaxx had an overnight stay yesterday which included two walks and play in the garden. He got to meet some of Zeva’s Golden Retriever pals at the park this morning which was fun 💖

An earlier than usual start again today to keep the dogs comfortable on a walk. We did a whole 60 minutes in the shade and thankful I have my permit to walk on MoD land so the dogs in my care get relief from the heat. I’m loving those huge tall trees at the moment!

I was very happy with our walk this morning starting at 7am to keep the dogs comfortable. Later walks were cancelled due to the heat this morning but this one was lovely with dogs who get along so well together.
I’m so thankful for my MoD permit during the hot weather so we can walk for an hour in complete shade with a breeze running through the trees x

Gorgeous Maisie has just completed a five day stay boarding. A regular to boarding and occasional daycare, she’s always really happy to see her Canterbury Canines pals and feels very comfortable and safe being here. I always really miss her when she leaves as she’s my little shadow who is never far from my side and is the perfect guest 💖

What an absolutely awesome eight day stay we’ve had with beautiful first time boarder Rupert.
My previous posts always thank my regular walkers/daycare doggies for being so welcoming to new dogs. We don’t have alphas in the groups and they don’t walk in an intimidating pack, we just jog along happily. Along with choosing the right dog to board who enjoys the company of other dogs and is just happy and sociable, we end up with this! I think the pictures show what a delight he was to have as a guest.
Behind the scenes, a licenced boarder will always do meet and greets and trial overnights to ensure that a guest dog will have a happy and safe stay, along with checking that my own dogs and all dogs in my weekly care are comfortable too. These checks are vital in my opinion so we can have weeks like this. Oh and I’m a bit in love with this one, he was utterly perfect 💖

We had a new visitor today!
I did a meet and greet with little Zozo (Chorizo) and invited her for a trial half day daycare including hours walk at a privately enclosed woodlands to check recall.
She sassed in like the confident little sausage she is and was a delight to care for. Thanks to Hannah Louise Pet Services who Zo regularly walks with, being in a crated van and walking with a group of dogs posed no problems.
Having recently recovered from IVDD Stage 1, I was very mindful to encourage using the ramps and she was supervised at all times to avoid jumping excessively.
All in all, a very successful first trial x

Another hot one for us dog owners today and how to navigate it.
I wanted to take my group to the water to keep cool but my boarder is prone to ear infections when in water so decided to take him for a lovely cool run to the park at 5.30am - perfect for him to have a blast and even Zeva had lots of energy with the cooler temperature.
Group walks started with 7am pick ups, fun at the canal and a walk in complete shade amongst very tall trees. We did a pitstop water break to keep the dogs hydrated.
And that’s a wrap for walks for the day and just keeping daycare cool and calm - no toys out today x
