🎃 Happy Halloween everyone! 👻

Hope you all have a fun (and safe!) evening tonight! 🕸️
Just a few quick tips to help keep our furry friends safe: 🐾

🦴 Keep sweets and chocolate well out of reach – they can be toxic to dogs.
🚪 Make sure doors and gates are secure with all the trick-or-treaters coming and going.
💡 If your dog’s nervous around costumes or noises, give them a quiet space to relax (TV or some calming music can help).
🐶 Check that their ID tag and microchip details are up to date – just in case they get spooked.
🕯️ Be careful with candles and decorations – curious noses and wagging tails can easily knock them over!

Stay safe, have fun, and give your pups an extra treat (a dog-friendly one of course)! 🎃🐾

The final goodbyes today, last day covering Carterton. I have done individual posts over on Instagram, not sure I can bring myself to write it all out again, enough tears today already 😩😅
I can’t thank all of my customers in Carterton for your support over the years, your flexibility, understanding and loyalty means the world to me. I’ll be popping back at the end of the month to see a couple of the doggos but for now I hope they all have the best time and settle in with there new walkers, Heel and Hike and House & Hound 🐾❤️
Also a huge thankyou for the presents, flowers, cards and Rosie’s gifts, so unbelievably grateful!

Oh Dotty doo 🥹 final walk today with the gorgeous girl. An absolute pleasure to work with, and a tough goodbye (not helped with her staring out the window at me as I drove away😅) the most playful happy pooch, with a very unique personality. Will miss her walks so much 🐾 she’ll have the best time I’m sure with Heel and Hike ❤️

few things changing over this week, (unless the weather drastically changes)

-No use of dog parks, due to lack of shade and no access to water for the dogs to cool off in (only drink)
-if temperatures rise to 23/24c it will be garden visits only
-walks will be in the more shaded areas where possible
- If temperatures are set to be above 24c anyday then I will be in touch regarding earlier morning walks/visits

Signs of heat stroke to look out for:
Extreme panting, staggering or collapsing of the legs, heart racing, red or purple gums, glassy eyes and unfortunately seizures.

Tips to keep your dogs cool this week, keep curtains closed at home, pop a fan on, cooling pads or damp towels, freeze there favourite toy, try clip long fur back, avoid unnecessary car journeys, and the obvious leave plenty of water down.
