Hi all, before I wrote this we wanted to wait until we had all the factual information present and available to us, but in true horse world fashion the gossip and keyboard warriors haven't allowed us to do this!
Regrettably we can confirm as of yesterday afternoon we do have a positive case of strangles from Oxleaze farm stud. This brood mare currently resides with another mare in a field well away from our livery business and stables. These two mares are being treated under veterinary guidance and we have strict protocols in place. We are completely transparent and would rather raise awareness than keep it hidden (as in the case we recently found out about in a neighbouring village in January!) which would therefore increase further spread.
