Out of Office for a Summer Break 🙏
It’s time for me to step away for a little while and spend some much-needed time with my own little family before the next chapter begins. Year 1 and pre-school for my little people.

I’ll be away from work from now until Tuesday 8th September. During this time, please contact your usual vet practice for any support, as I won’t be available and my answer service will not be able to take messages.

I’m so grateful to the families who have reached out this week, and to those I’ve had the privilege to support this year. Thank you to all of you for your kind words, your trust, the heartfelt reviews, and all the recommendations.

I also want to thank Diana and Steve at Culm Valley Pet Cremation Ltd for their ongoing support; they are still available through the summer for your pet's personalised aftercare.

If you’d like to book an appointment with me for on or after 8th September, you’re welcome to check availability and book online at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk.

Wishing you and your pets a peaceful few weeks, and I look forward to seeing you all back on here soon. Thinking of those who have loved and lost 🐾🌈

Thank you to Oliver’s family for taking the time to leave these kind words following the loss of their much-loved boy 💙🐾🌈

One part of this review particularly stayed with me:

“Sara was so patient, and so kind.”

When families contact me, they’re often facing one of the hardest decisions they’ll ever make. My aim is always to make things feel a little easier by taking the time to listen, answer questions and provide a calm, compassionate goodbye in the comfort of home.

I’m so sorry for the loss of Oliver and grateful that I was able to help him on his final journey.

Thinking of Oliver’s family today and remembering their lovely boy today 🐾

If and when you need me, my current availability and online booking can be found at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk.

Thinking of the pets and families I've helped this week. 🐾❤️

One thing I'll never take for granted is the trust that families place in me at such a difficult time.

After saying goodbye to a beloved pet, I know that taking the time to write a review isn't always easy. For some, it's a way of expressing their thanks. For others, it can be part of processing their grief. Whatever the reason, I'm incredibly grateful for every single one.

This work stays with me long after I've driven home. Reading the kind words families choose to share means more than they probably realise.

Not because of the five stars, but because those shared experiences help other families find support when they need it most.

Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things we go through, and my aim is always to make that day feel just a little less overwhelming. To read that I've helped create a calm, peaceful and personal goodbye means more than I can say.

Thinking of all the pets and families I've had the privilege of helping this week, and remembering their sweet souls.

Take care,

Sara x 🐾

*NOW FULLY BOOKED* Remaining availability update - My final appointments before the summer break are Thursday 9th July and Friday 10th July. Thank you for your understanding while I then take some time for my little family.

As a small, family-run service, my availability generally follows school term times. This allows me to offer calm, unhurried visits and be fully present for the pets and families I support.

If you feel you may be nearing the time to say goodbye and would like to do this at home, please do visit rainbowbridgevets.co.uk to view availability and book online. I’m here to help if I can.

Thank you,

The older I get, the more I appreciate slowing down.

Perhaps that's one of the gifts our senior pets give us. Looking back, I think they help us notice moments we might otherwise rush through. This photo was taken on an early morning beach walk with Alphie, before I'd even thought about putting makeup on or starting the day properly! At the time it felt completely ordinary. Now it's a memory I treasure of a place I love.

When we're younger, it's easy to think the best days are the exciting ones. But some of the most precious moments come later, when the pace softens and we learn to treasure time a little more deeply.

Growing old with a beloved pet is a privilege that I never take for granted.

This week, the kindest walk is no walk at all. 🚫

With temperatures reaching up to 38°C in some places, pavements can become hot enough to burn paws in seconds. 🌡️

Your dog doesn’t need a walk that badly. They need you to keep them safe.

Thinking of the pets and families I've helped this week. 🐾❤️

As it's Father's Day, I'm thinking of all the pet dads I've met over the years.

The bond between people and their pets is a special one. They become part of our families, and when we lose them, we feel that loss deeply.

Today, I'm thinking of those enjoying time with their beloved companions, and those missing a much-loved friend.

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful pet dads.

This photo always makes me smile. Her dark brown eyes could see into my soul.

There are some dogs who leave such a mark on your life that, no matter how much time passes, a part of them stays with you. We never stop loving them. We simply learn how to carry that love differently.

For anyone missing a special dog or cat today, you're not alone.
