This week, the kindest walk is no walk at all. 🚫

With temperatures reaching up to 38°C in some places, pavements can become hot enough to burn paws in seconds. 🌡️

Your dog doesn’t need a walk that badly. They need you to keep them safe.

Thinking of the pets and families I've helped this week. 🐾❤️

As it's Father's Day, I'm thinking of all the pet dads I've met over the years.

The bond between people and their pets is a special one. They become part of our families, and when we lose them, we feel that loss deeply.

Today, I'm thinking of those enjoying time with their beloved companions, and those missing a much-loved friend.

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful pet dads.

This photo always makes me smile. Her dark brown eyes could see into my soul.

There are some dogs who leave such a mark on your life that, no matter how much time passes, a part of them stays with you. We never stop loving them. We simply learn how to carry that love differently.

For anyone missing a special dog or cat today, you're not alone.

Thank you to Alan for sharing these kind words following the loss of his beautiful Casper. ❤️

There's one part of this review that I particularly love:

"He'd had a morning of pampering and was very relaxed as he parted company with both of us stroking him and talking to him."

For many cats, home is where they feel safest. When you have a home visit, there is no carrier and no car journey, just familiar surroundings and the comforts of being in their own home, surrounded by the people they love and the routines they know.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Casper and grateful that I was able to help him have a calm and peaceful goodbye at home.

Thinking of Alan and his family today, and remembering the lovely Casper. 🐾

🌈 Tribute Tuesday 🌈

This week holds the one-year anniversary of the passing of the beautiful Winnie. I feel privileged to have been part of Winnie’s journey and am thinking of her lovely family as they navigate this important milestone.

In the words of Winnie’s family - “I would like to make tribute to Winnie, we will mark a year this 14th June, how has it been a year, not a day goes by that Winnie isn’t in my thoughts and her name mentioned, ❤️ she holds half of my heart and my children the other half, I
miss her so much, you will also always be held in my heart for given Winnie the best way to go to doggy heaven, she had a beautiful send off, I don’t think I will ever get over it or pass it she was my pure soul ❤️ xx”

Because every pet deserves to be remembered. ❤️

If you’d like to remember a pet of your own, I’d be honoured to share their story as part of Tribute Tuesday. Whether I’ve cared for your pet personally or not, you’re welcome to send a photo, their name, dates (if you’d like to include them) and a few words
about what made them special.

One thing I've been reflecting on recently is how many families are now returning to me when it's time to say goodbye to another beloved pet. It's something I never take for granted. To be invited into such an important moment once is a privilege. To be trusted again, is incredibly humbling.

When families contact me for a second or even third time, I know it's not because they wanted to experience that loss again. It's because they remember feeling supported, listened to and cared for during a very difficult time. Knowing that I was able to make things feel just a little easier means so much to me.

I've met more gorgeous pets and families this week, each with their own stories. As always, I'm grateful that I could be there to help create a calm and peaceful goodbye at home. Thinking of the pets and families I've helped this week.

If and when you need me, appointments can be booked online at www.rainbowbridgevets.co.uk. As the summer holidays draw closer, I'm looking forward to some time with my small children. Before then, I have around four weeks of appointments remaining.

One of the things I love most about pets is the way they see us. They simply love us for who we are.

As pet owners, we spend so much time trying to give our animals the best life possible. Perhaps one of the greatest compliments is knowing that, in their eyes, we've done just that.

A little reminder today to be kind to yourself and to see yourself through the eyes of the pets who adore you.

Thank you to Bear's family for sharing these kind words following the loss of their gorgeous boy ❤️

One part of this review particularly stayed with me:

"Sara was absolutely brilliant and guided us every step of the way. It was very peaceful and so very personal."

When families contact me, they are often navigating one of the hardest decisions they will ever make. My aim is always to make things feel a little less overwhelming by providing support, clear communication and guidance throughout.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Bear and grateful that I was able to help him have a peaceful goodbye at home.

Some places hold so many memories. This half term break, we spent some time at South Sands, a beach we’ve visited as a family every year since my eldest was just 8 weeks old. It’s a place that has always brought me a sense of peace and calm.

This year felt a little different. It was our first visit without Koru. Last year, she found parts of the beach more challenging, but we happily carried her down the steps for example, when she needed us to. Looking back, I’m so grateful we had that time together and that she enjoyed one final holiday in a place we all love.

Returning without her brought a sense of sadness. Losing our companions is never easy, and those first milestones without them can catch us by surprise.

But alongside the sadness we have so many happy memories, including this photo 🥰

Today, I’m thinking not only of Koru but of all the beloved pets I’ve been honoured to help and the families who are missing them this week.
