AND WHY GROOMERS CHARGE EXTRA

August is one of the worst months for the little critters , so please give your dogs a little check through before you bring them , you may not see them on the coat as they will move faster than the eye can see at times but a tell tale signs are p**p on your pets backs usually around the tail area .
P**p is black and resembles tiny bits of grit or cigarette ash that when wet turns orangey red as it’s digested blood . One other way of checking is get several white paper towels soak them in warm water , place on the floor and get your dog to sit next to it and rub the coat checking for any black bits to fall off and turn colour .
Many use chemical spot on’s , others like us have to check our dogs each day and use natural repellants . We sometimes find the odd one or two on clients which can’t be helped it’s part of
having pets and they are squished , but if they have multiple we may send them straight home or if already started we do charge £10 per dog as on our terms and conditions for the extra time and products to dispatch any little travellers , throw away towels used and we may have to move the next dogs to a different time to enable to spray everything down . It’s costs £40 per month alone to maintain a flea free workplace in general
Two of my dogs cannot have topical treatment so if I seem to overreact if I see fleas it’s purely because Elsa has had seizures with spot on treatment so have to be completely on the ball at all times and of course would never want anyone else’s dogs catching them
Fleas can be found in damp areas of your garden even in winter so important to keep a constant check as they can also carry tapeworms 🤢

A mix of before and after pics after a First full clip for the stunning cockerpoo Nellie 🩷
Nellie has been coming for regular
bath ,blow ,fringe ,feet and bum trims , her coat was very thick and huge , her mum has done so well to keep on top of her beautiful locks for so long and wanted to keep those lovely ears long 🌸
She’s now happy and relaxing at home very pleased with herself for being so good today xx

Two new boys today from the same home , Noddy the Shih Tzu x poodle and Moo-two the 14 year old jack Russell
Noddy needed a short cut to remove some tangles and see him through the rest of summer and Moo-Two had a pamper with a bath , blow and nail trim 🩵🩵

On Sunday we had an early start to meet up with Donna from Bindis lost and found , Sophie from whizz dog training and a group of other dedicated dog lovers
As many know since a child I’ve been rescuing dogs and reuniting lost dogs and cats with owners .
In the last couple of years Elsa our Malinois has come out with me on some of the lost dogs and been very helpful in finding several already by just using her nose and little input from me , We were invited to meet up and learn to brush up her scenting skills by the team so looking forward to more training 😀
One of the dogs she sniffed out was a 14 year old spaniel who had been missing from a walk for 3 days in moreton , Wirral
This little lad had become tangled in huge thick brambles and could not be seen about 5 metres in , she knew he was there but I didn’t and certainly couldn’t see him so checked with the thermal camera ( see pic Red Cross is his head ) and I could just pick out the outline of his body
I called his owners friends to help get him gently out and he was taken back home 🙏🏼so hoping she can continue to help others in the future
Bindis is a registered charity and do marvelous work helping lost pets please consider donating for ring cameras and other equipment so needed 😊
