Welcome to the page of Maison de Moggy, Edinburgh’s Cat Cafe. We have been serving up delicious drinks and cakes in the company of our beautiful cats for 5 years now and have become one of the most important places to visit in Edinburgh. Whether you can’t have your own cat or have 10 of your own we are the place for you to come and get a kitty fix (we even allow dog lovers!).
Our cats are very much family pets, they just happen to stay in the cafe instead of at home with their Mum and Dad. We have had them all since they were babies and they have grown up together carefully socialised with human animals so that they can live happily in the cafe environment. For this reason the cats in our cafe are not from rescue backgrounds.
“Cat Cafe” may just make you think of a cafe with some cats in it but when you visit you will be transported into a special Cat World where everything is created for them - you are simply guests in their home. If you are lucky you will watch the Bengal Boys chase one another around the overhead walkways, worship our Sphynx Elodie from her heated bed, or perhaps mistake our Persian, Guillaume, for a cloud in our tree! The cafe is their home and they have a special day bedroom to the rear, so if they don’t feel in the mood to be social they always have the opportunity to chill there. Thanks to our house rules and how loved they are they do tend to spend all of their time in the cafe areas but please remember that they are little living animals and that they do sleep on average 16 hours a day. This means that half of them sleep even more that 16 hours a day! There is a chance they might be snoozy while you are visiting, so please prepare for this as we don’t attempt to change their behaviours.
All visitors to Maison de Moggy must be strictly over 10 with children over 10 accompanied 1:1 by an adult at all times during the visit. We do not make any exceptions to this rule under any circumstances. You are welcome to stroke and play with our cats and our Cat Nannies will be on hand to tell you all about the cats and also to offer advice on interacting. Please do listen to them - they really know the cats personalities and body language best. There are rules in place for good reason and most of them are there from learned experience.
