Tell me you’re the baby of the family without telling me you’re the baby of the family. Winnie (above) with her sisters Pepper (left) and Daisy (right). Winnie had a tough start in life. She was rescued from trade in China, cared for by Rescuepugswithlily until she arrived in her new home with her lovely family and sisters. Since then, her confidence has grown immensely, not only for her groom but being away from mum and dad in an unfamiliar environment. Winnie now lives the life of luxury, winding up her pug sisters and being spoilt rotten. I am so lucky to know these three beautiful girls 💙💙💙

Your dog’s safety and comfort is my top priority. Grooms are going ahead as normal for the time being. The salon is air conditioned and I am keeping a close eye on the room temperature. I am constantly safety/risk assessing the temperature and the dogs in the salon. If anything changes I will let you know.

Before their groom:
Please do not exercise or walk your dog before their groom. Try to keep their day relaxed and quiet. 
Please drive your dog to their appointment if possible.  
If your dog is struggling in this heat, is showing signs of heatstroke, is unwell etc please do not bring them down, we will rearrange. 
Please avoid arriving early to minimise the time that your dog is in the salon. 
If your dog arrives showing signs of heat stress, I will not be able to groom them. 

During their groom:
As always, please remain contactable at all times throughout their groom. If they are showing signs of stress, heat stroke or I feel they are not coping with their groom, I will stop their groom and contact you immediately. 
As with every appointment, dog’s have constant access to fresh water. The heaters on the dryers are off, their bath  temperature is lower and the salon is air conditioned. Dogs have plenty of rest breaks to cool in front of the air con and have a drink. 

After their groom:
I will text approximately 15 minutes before they are ready to collect. Please ensure you arrive promptly to minimise the time that your dog is in the salon. 
Please keep your dog cool, calm and relaxed after their groom. Avoid walking or exercising. Ensure they have access to clean, cool water at all times. They may be more tired than usual so please allow them time to relax.

Dogs that are most at risk:
Brachycephalic (flat-faced) Breeds - e.g Bulldogs, Pugs
Overweight Dogs
Puppies
Elderly Dogs
Dogs with Certain Medical Conditions 

If your dog falls into one of these categories, please take extra care before, during and after their appointment. 

If you have any concerns about how they are coping with the heat, please get in touch and we can discuss whether it is best to rearrange their groom.
