When you have mid day walks but the sun is too hot 🔥

Brie and Tilly enjoyed some enrichment and a chance to keep cool in the sun

Some brain work also through some calm engagement work also

Plenty of water and opportunities to go inside in the cool 😎

It's looking like another hot day tomorrow and Friday

I will be in touch with clients later this evening if any walks need time rearranging to cooler parts or put on hold for this week

I'd rather lose income then risk a dog becoming dangerously poorly or worse through the heat 🌞☀️

With the current heatwave making our usual walks much shorter, I've been finding other ways to keep Tilly mentally and physically engaged while staying safe from the heat.

Today, we had some fun enrichment time outdoors in the shade of the garden by hiding treats inside cardboard boxes for Tilly to sniff out and find. Watching her use her nose and problem-solving skills was just as rewarding as a longer walk!

Scent games and food-based enrichment activities offer so many benefits for dogs. They provide mental stimulation, help prevent boredom, build confidence, and can be surprisingly tiring. In fact, using their sense of smell requires a lot of concentration and can leave dogs feeling happily fulfilled without the need for intense physical exercise.

During hot weather, enrichment activities like treat hunts, puzzle games, and sniffing challenges are a great way to keep our dogs entertained while reducing the risk of overheating. Tilly certainly enjoyed herself today and was ready for a well-earned nap afterwards!

Pavements and weather will be checked before each walk today

So far the weather is in the safe zone of heat for today , but you can never predict that it's correct

The humidy is high so brache breeds will NOT be walked

What a wonderful week it has been with my amazing dog walking pack! 🐾

I've spent the week surrounded by wagging tails, happy faces, muddy paws, and plenty of laughter. Every walk has been filled with fun, adventure, and special moments that remind me how lucky I am to do what I love.

I'm so grateful for each and every dog in the pack and for the trust their owners place in me. Watching them play, explore, and enjoy their time together brings me so much joy.

Thank you for another fantastic week of walks, cuddles, and memories. Here's to many more adventures ahead! ❤️🐶🐾

We are due another heat wave next week.

Walks maybe cut short , heat depending and dog depending

No dogs will be walked if the weather is extremely hot and over the recommended temperature for a safe walk

Care will still be carried out via visits but may be changed to pops in only with a quick toilet break on the nearest grass for those dogs that don't toilet in their own garden

Zeusy boy, you loved your slow strolls eating grass and just plodding on in the woods

The dog who hated black dogs and wasn't afraid to say, also the dog who was always bouncing ready for his walk once we gained his trust
