As the warm weather rolls in, so do the hidden dangers in our favorite walking spots. One of the biggest seasonal threats to our dogs? Grass seeds.

These tiny, harmless-looking seeds can cause serious pain, infection, and even require surgery if they get lodged in your dog’s paws, ears, eyes, nose, or under their skin.

🔍 Why are grass seeds dangerous?

🐾They’re barbed and sharp, designed to burrow into the ground — or your dog’s body.
🐾Once embedded, they can travel through tissue, causing swelling, abscesses, and lameness.
🐾Symptoms aren’t always obvious at first — but the damage can escalate quickly.

🚨 Signs to watch for:

🐾Sudden limping or licking at paws
🐾Head shaking or ear scratching
