🌸TOXIC SUMMER PLANTS FOR DOGS🌸

One of the top summer dangers for dogs is plants. There are many common garden and landscaping plants that are hazardous to your dog. Whether garden plants, plants in the wild, or seasonal plants you bring home from the florist, plants can provide crazy smells and a taste of something new, which can be at odds with your pup’s health.

Identifying potential signs of poisoning can save your dog’s life. Look out for these symptoms:

• Gastrointestinal issues: Vomiting, diarrhoea, drooling, increased thirst, or loss of appetite

• Behavioural changes: Restlessness, confusion, lethargy, or depression

• Physical symptoms: Tremors, seizures, difficulty breathing, panting, increased heart rate, and pale gums

If you think your dog may have ingested something toxic, call your vet immediately! Never watch and wait!

Hi everyone! It’s that time of year again where we have to be careful with the heat when walking our dogs. Walks this week may be earlier, shorter, switched for home visits or worst case cancelled to keep everyone safe.

If anyone has any requests or would like to cancel their walks please get in touch, and we will keep you all updated with any changes. Thanks for your understanding, I hope everyone is managing to stay cool!

Here’s a temperature guide for the upcoming heatwave ☀️🐾

As much as we LOVE seeing all your dogs in the shop, their safety comes first. Dogs can quickly overheat in high temperatures, and even short walks can become dangerous during this heat.

If possible, keep walks to the cooler parts of the day, and remember. Your dog won’t suffer from missing a walk, but exercising them in extreme heat can be dangerous as heatstroke can be fatal for dogs ⛑️

For anyone popping in with their pups, we’ll have fresh drinking water available and the AC on to keep things cool and comfortable.

Please take extra care in this heat and keep yourselves and your dogs safe 💛

Lab & Lead (formerly Paramount Pet Services) is 7 years old 🎂🎈🐾

I can’t quite believe my little business has been running for 7 whole years! Time flies when you’re having fun. Solo and group dog walking, house sitting, home visits, wedding chaperone, pet taxi, grooming, and now training… I think I’ve done it all😆 So many different dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, chickens, mice… I truly love what I’ve been so blessed to do for so long and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

A big thank you as always to all my friends, family, customers, my mentors, those who have joined me to help cover work (especially now!), and anyone else who helps makes this a reality for me.

As lovely as it is to have a rest (I do use that word lightly😆) now at almost 37 weeks pregnant, Pippa and I miss you and your dogs loads! I can’t express my gratitude enough for the support and the lovely words, cards and gifts and look forward to seeing you all again after the summer once baby girl has arrived.

I’ve *technically* been on maternity leave since the 6th but I’ve gone along with Iris to introduce her to some dogs and today was Bailey’s last walk with me for a while, so I’ll count this as properly my last day🤣

After a couple of months of training walks, I’m very proud of Bailey boy and his progress! Training is never reaaaally over, but I’m looking forward to handing videos and notes over to his family and Amelia and hoping our hard work is evident because he’s been fab. To be completely honest I got to a point where Pippa and Bailey on one walk together was hard work and I would avoid taking them together, but today was a dream and they were perfect. They’re quite similar in a lot of ways🤣

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and support as I can now say I’m fully on maternity leave! It’s lovely to leave all the dogs in the capable hands of Amelia and Iris and I know the dogs love them😊 I’m sure I’ll continue posting bits and bobs and will of course let everyone know when baby arrives!😱
