It’s been a long time since I’ve not had a dog to train and compete and it feels quite odd to not be doing workshops and competitions. The bond we have doing scentwork together is very special.

It’s been a tough few weeks as my younger dog Maddy is currently being referred for suspected arthritis in her front feet and is on short lead only walks. She’s so driven to search that I’m having to limit her scentwork so she doesn’t over use her front feet.

My older dog, Tilly, retired this year so she is also just doing short fun searches and enjoying retired life.

So we are enjoying swimming for now and hoping to find a treatment for Maddy so we can get back to what we love to do together - scentwork 🙏

Huge congratulations to the Chipps family & Teddy who initially started scentwork to help with Teddy’s anxiety but have gone on to be super sniffers!

Not only is he more confident but now he has nailed his skills too! He has now passed all his level 3 scentwork skills in class demonstrating awesome searching: clearing areas, working systematically, independent searching and problem solving skills.

We do these fun games in class in a nice relaxed environment and it is lovely for handlers be able to see their progress
