New Dog training courses commence on Sunday 02/11/2025 at 9.30am & 10.30am and continue 09/11/25, 16/11/25, 23/11/25, 30/11/25 & 07/12/25.
Training location is at Westcott Sports Ground, Milton Street, Westcott, RH4 3PX (Outdoor area).

Puppy classes 9.30am.
Content includes: Building the value of their name, eye contact, sit, down, various recall options, leave, wait, settle, loose lead walking. Understanding how to develop duration, distance and distraction training. Expanding your knowledge and handling skills and more.
The aim is to have a sociable well-behaved dog, who is confident in any environment.

Next stage adolescent classes 10.30am.
The course consists of six one-hour sessions reinforcing and developing foundation learning. Content includes additional recall, loose lead walking, meet and greet, emergency stop, settle, door manners. Building areas of training with duration, distance, distraction control, handling techniques, reinforcement schedules and much more.
Adolescent dogs have the energy and motivation to do more but lack the necessary knowledge and experience to manage their actions and reactions. They can easily find themselves in conflict when asked to stop doing something or to simply calm down. This kind of change is often interpreted by owners as the dog being stubborn or trying to assert their dominance. Instead, it's your dog finding it difficult to control their impulses.
The environment offers many challenges and reminding our dogs of the importance of us is key.

Cost is £120 per course. Written support notes are provided.

I have just returned from a weeks volunteering in The Gambia at The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust (Registered Charity No.1096814). They are amazing and have a vast array of animals who have been neglected, abandoned, or abused.
They currently house over 120 dogs and I previously provided some training in the UK for a dog that had been rehomed by the charity Director.

Whilst there I provided some foundation training to dogs and staff and introduced agility equipment, something previously never seen. Through this process it is hoped the dogs will be considered suitable for rehoming projects.

I have attached a photograph of the staff who were willing to step forward and embrace an introduction to positive force free training. Such was the interest in Gambia that we had a TV company attend and record what had been achieved in a short space of time. This has been shown on three separate days on Gambian national TV. We had some great success and the charity have placed the story of the training achievements on their Facebook account. (7) Facebook

The aim of the project is to also engage the wider community and educate people about how to care for and train all animals, including dogs.
