“There must be something in the water”✨
Just 5 weeks after discovering twins during Maeve's pregnancy scan, I have been lucky enough to find another set of twins today.
This time, the star of the show was a stunning Golden Retriever carrying 9 foetal sacs. As I carefully worked my way through the scan, I came across something truly special — one of those sacs contained not one, but two foetuses, with two beautiful little heartbeats clearly visible. ❤️❤️
I know I’ve said this before but these moments never lose their magic. Twin K9 pregnancies are incredibly rare to find on ultrasound, so to discover two cases within just a few weeks of each other feels almost unbelievable.
The excitement in the room was contagious. Watching the family see those tiny heartbeats on the screen for the first time was such a privilege, and sharing that moment with them is one of the things I love most about my job.
I've attached the scan video so you can see this amazing discovery for yourselves.
I’ll also share another video of the scan in the comments using Colour Doppler, which allows us to visualise blood flow within each foetus. It’s a fascinating glimpse into how these tiny babies are developing and a wonderful reminder of just how remarkable pregnancy really is. ❤️✨
