We are looking for someone to lead and mentor our ACA team as our current head leaves to pursue a career in human medicine.
We offer the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary practice, widening your knowledge and advancing your skill set beyond first opinion practice. No two days are the same and there is always something interesting or different to learn and take part in.
This senior role is incredibly rewarding as you train and build clinical skills for the ACA’s, taking them from veterinary novices to knowledgeable assistants and provide essential support for our clinical teams.
Our ACA’s follow a weekly rota covering multiple areas of the practice; first opinion, wards, surgical referral, ophthalmology, lab and reception. The shift pattern varies over 6 weeks and roles vary depending on the assigned area.
Overall you are expected to assist the vets and nurses with the flow of the day. As the senior ACA you will complete managerial tasks in addition and time is allocated on the rota for these, to include competency training, 1-2-1 meetings, designing new protocols, liaising with heads of area, rota management and more.
Previous veterinary experience is essential and further training will be provided.
Everyone in our team is encouraged to explore their professional interests and we pride ourselves on enabling each member to reach their full potential. We are an aspirational team and would like to welcome someone who has the drive, resilience and eye for detail that this role requires along with a desire to contribute to a supportive team.
