Van safety
I wasn’t going to post about this but after chatting with a couple of clients I feel I should.
Over the last couple of years I’ve had friends, family & clients ask why I’ve spent so much money getting the vans specifically crated out the way I have when ‘other people/dog walks’ are using home crates ( readily available at places like pets at home)
My answer is always the same- these crates are crash tested meaning the dogs in our care are as safe as possible, in a potential crash these crates are not going to crumple causing more injuries (or even death) to the dogs in them.
Secondly, every crate has an escape door meaning if one door was crashed into we can still get every dog out from the other 2 exits.
This actually came into play last week when one of the rear doors jammed & I couldn’t open it- with a van full of dogs.
Thankfully this is the first time I’ve needed to use the escape door, everyone still got home in a timely fashion with absolutely no stress to any of the dogs or myself.
So yes, these vans have cost a hell of a lot of money to set up but I wouldn’t have it any other way- the safety & comfort of the dogs is paramount to the ethos of Tam’s Doggy Daycare.
This isn’t a job it’s a journey & I’m so pleased to have all your dogs along for the ride.
