⚠️ ⚠️ HOT WEATHER ⚠️ ⚠️

With the heat wave in full force, all walks will be starting earlier than usual. I will get in touch the day before and advise of timings to collect your fur babies. All walks will be in the wooded area, where it is cooler for the dogs.

I have equipped the van with individual cooling mats, individual crate fans and water bowls. This will help keep them cool, to and from their walks. I will do my upmost to keep your pets cool and comfortable during their time with me 🐾

⚠️ ALABAMA ROT ⚠️

I want to raise awareness to this horrific disease, as I don’t think it’s talked about enough.
This disease attacks the blood vessels in the skin, and the kidneys. Which then lead to skin sores (normally on their paws and legs), then eventually leads to kidney failure.

The cause? No one really knows! It is believed dogs catch this from going on a woodland type walk, with lots of muddy puddles.

What to look out for:
- limping
- loss of appetite
- vomiting
- red sores or swelling

Unfortunately, this disease has a 90% fatality rate, which means only 1 in 10 dogs will survive as it causes kidney failure.

Prevention:
- wash and towel dry paws and legs after muddy walks
- stay away from wooded areas
- the moment your dog shows any signs, take them to the vet immediately.

Although there’s not many cases being reported, it’s still very much out there. It is most active between November - May. So please take care 🐾
