🐰🌿 It’s Rabbit Awareness Week! 🌿🐰

This week is all about raising awareness of the needs of pet rabbits, and this year’s theme is “Feeding Bunnies Better” 🥕💚

Getting diet right is one of the simplest ways to improve a rabbit’s health and wellbeing. A few key tips:

• Hay should make up the bulk of their daily diet
• Fresh leafy greens support digestion and hydration
• Pellets and treats should be kept in moderation

We’ve shared more guidance in our latest blog to help rabbit owners make confident, healthy choices.

Our cat and small animal sitting team have been visiting Bob and Elsie recently. They have a wonderful hay rack with multiple packs of dried, vitamin rich foods, pellets and fresh leafy greens - perfect to help keep them hydrated in the current warm temperatures. They love fresh parsley but their favourite treat of all seems to be the dried dandelion roots! They are clearly very happy bunnies who have a wonderful set up at home 🐰💖🐰

☀️ Another heatwave is on the way! ☀️

Let's keep our pets safe, cool and comfortable during the hot weather. Remember, if it's too hot for your hand on the pavement, it's too hot for your dog's paws. 🐾

At Petpals, all our franchises follow strict procedures and work in line with the TACC (Tufts Animal Care & Condition) Scales to determine whether it’s safe to walk your dog. The welfare of your pets always comes first, and we strongly encourage all pet owners to do the same when considering walks or outdoor time in high temperatures.

🚫 If in doubt – don’t take them out! A short walk can quickly turn into a serious risk during a heatwave.

📞 If our Petpals teams determine it’s too hot for your dog to safely join their scheduled walk, they will contact you directly to discuss alternative arrangements – whether that’s a garden comfort break, indoor enrichment, or a rescheduled visit. Your pet’s wellbeing is always our top priority.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and give your pets some extra TLC this week. 🐶🐱💙

🐶The dogs we Home Board are so much more than simply customers...they become part of the Petpals family!

🐾There's something incredibly special about watching a dog come through the door with a wagging tail, knowing they're excited for another stay with our Home Boarders. Sandy's visiting dogs do exactly that!
They know they have a night, a weekend, a week or more, of fun adventures and endless love and cuddles for the duration of their stay.

🥰It's about no longer being lonely, it's about having a purpose, reciprocated affection, having the confidence to get out for walks on your own and chat to people you meet along the way.
