This 6 lesson course will introduce you and your dog to the exciting world of Scurry Dog – a gundog inspired activity but available for all breeds and abilities!

🎆Did you know that around 45% of dogs show fear when fireworks go off? That’s nearly half of our dog’s population struggling to cope with the loud bangs and flashes.

Here are some tips to help your dog feel safe and supported this fireworks season:

🐾 Create a safe space – Set up a cosy den with blankets, their bed, and favourite toys where they can retreat if they feel overwhelmed.

🐾 Keep calm yourself – Dogs pick up on our emotions. Staying relaxed and reassuring can help them feel more secure.

🐾 Mask the noise – Close windows and curtains, pop the TV or radio on to help drown out the bangs.

🐾 Stick to routine – Feed and walk your dog earlier in the day so they’re indoors before the fireworks start.

🐾 Provide enrichment – Chews, stuffed Kongs, or puzzle feeders can help keep them busy and distracted.

🐾 Avoid punishment – If your dog is frightened, comfort them. Never tell them off for being scared, fear is an emotion not a behaviour.

Your dog relies on you to be their safe haven 💙

✨ 3 Signs Your Dog May Benefit from Training ✨

Training isn’t just about “fixing” problems – it’s about building a stronger bond with your dog and helping them thrive 💙🐾

Here are 3 signs your dog might enjoy and benefit from some extra training support:

1️⃣ Pulling on the lead – Walks should be fun for both of you! If your arm feels like it’s in a tug-of-war, training can make outings calmer and more enjoyable.

2️⃣ Jumping up at people – Excitement is lovely, but it can be overwhelming (especially for visitors!). Teaching polite greetings helps your dog feel calmer and more confident.

3️⃣ Struggling to settle – Whether it’s at home, in the café, or at the pub, if your dog can’t relax, training can give them the tools to switch off and feel comfortable.

💡 Remember: Training is about setting your dog up for success and strengthening your relationship, not about being strict.
