With the temperatures set to stay high over the next few days, please take extra care of your dogs.
If you’re unsure whether it’s safe to walk your dog, try this handy tool: https://goodtowalk.co.uk
Simply enter your dog’s breed, age, and the time you’d like to walk, and it will help you determine whether conditions are safe or unsafe for your dog. It’s a fantastic resource for making informed decisions during hot weather.
A few important reminders:
💧 Make sure your dog has constant access to fresh, cool water.
🧊 Use cooling coats, cooling mats, and other safe cooling aids where appropriate.
🏠 Keep dogs indoors during the hottest parts of the day, especially around midday.
🌳 Limit time spent in the garden during peak temperatures.
☀️ Remember: just because your dog chooses to lie in the sun doesn’t mean it’s safe for them to do so.
🚫 Avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day and opt for early morning or late evening if temperatures allow.
Heatstroke can develop very quickly and can be life-threatening. Prevention is always better than treatment.
Please stay vigilant, keep your dogs cool, and don’t take unnecessary risks in this heat.
Stay safe everyone! ❤️🐶
