🐾 A little giveaway update 🐾

I had originally planned to run a summer giveaway for my lovely clients and followers, but I’ve decided to do something a little different this year 💛

Instead, Crick Cats & Cuddles will be donating a cat hamper to the Crick Scarecrow Festival raffle 🎉🐱

The hamper will include lots of goodies for your feline friends, including treats, toys and a few other surprises 🐾✨

I’m really pleased to be able to support such a fantastic local community event and can’t wait for one lucky cat to enjoy their prize! 🥰

I am now fully booked until 15th August and have only limited availability remaining after this date.

If you’re planning a summer holiday and still need cat sitting, please get in touch as soon as possible to check availability. Once the remaining spaces are gone, that’s it for the summer!

The exciting news is… we’ve got a cat! 🐾❤️

Meet Bolt 🖤🤍

Bolt is nearly 3 years old and we’ve rescued him from Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary. We honestly couldn’t be happier!

A huge thank you to all the lovely staff there. They were so friendly, helpful and clearly care so much about the animals. We would 100% recommend Redgate Farm Animal Sanctuary to anyone thinking about adopting a rescue cat.

Bolt has only been home a short while and he’s already settling in brilliantly. He’s eaten a whole packet of wet food and has been exploring and playing upstairs in his own room (lucky boy! 😸).

We’re looking forward to watching him grow in confidence and become part of the family. Welcome home, Bolt 🏡🐾❤️

I’m looking after Stella again this May half term and it’s been so nice to be back seeing her little face 🐱✨

She absolutely loves a good fuss, a play and especially being brushed 😂💛

It’s always so lovely going back to cats I’ve already built a bond with and seeing them remember me again 🥹🐾

💧🐾 Little reminder during this heatwave… hydration is SO important for cats 🐾💧

One thing I’ve noticed while cat sitting is how many cats absolutely LOVE drinking from water fountains 🥹🐱

A lot of cats naturally prefer moving water, which can encourage them to drink more — especially during hot weather like we’re having at the moment ☀️✨

Of course every cat is different and plenty are absolutely happy drinking from normal bowls too 💛

Some little ways to encourage drinking in warmer weather:
💧 Multiple water bowls around the house
🧊 Ice cubes in water bowls
🐱 Fresh water topped up regularly
✨ Water fountains for cats who enjoy running water
🥣 Wet food to help hydration

Keeping our cats hydrated is so important, especially in this heat ☀️🐾

🐾 Met handsome Ebony (Ebi) for the first time today 🖤🐱

And honestly… I think it’s safe to say he loves three things in life:
✨ Food
✨ Going outside
✨ Attention 😂

He was such a friendly boy and absolutely loved his treat this evening 🥹🐾

We also had lots of fuss and cuddles and I quickly learnt that chin scratches are definitely his favourite 💛✨

Such a lovely handsome man and I can already tell we’re going to get on very well this week 🐱🖤

🐾 Very busy day today but full of lovely cats 🐱💛

Today started with a meet & greet before heading back to see gorgeous Bobby again 🥹✨

He was absolutely loving the tummy rubs and fuss today and looked so comfy and relaxed 💛🐾

I also started visits yesterday for two new lovely cats, Roxy & Sox 🐱🐱

Roxy was busy enjoying her food while Sox was keeping a close eye on me and sussing me out from a distance 😂👀

Now time for me to finally sit down after a very busy day of cat cuddles, feeding, litter trays and treats 🐾💛

☀️🐾 Keeping your cats cool in this heatwave 🐾☀️

With the warmer weather this bank holiday and next week, here are a few little ways to help keep your cats cool, comfortable and happy 🐱💛

❄️ Keep plenty of fresh water available
🏡 Create cool shady spots indoors
🪟 Keep blinds/curtains partly closed in sunny rooms
🧊 Try ice cubes in water bowls
🥣 Wet food can help with hydration
🐾 Brush regularly to remove excess fur
🌙 Let outdoor cats out during cooler parts of the day if possible

And remember — cats will often naturally find the coolest spot in the house 😂🐱✨

Please also keep an eye out for signs of overheating such as heavy panting, drooling or lethargy ☀️🐾
