This is a very sad post but I feel an important one to put up.
This is Rafiki who was one of our riding school ponies.
She had to be brought in from her field last night as she had an accident in the field and had somehow ran through a fence which caused a severe wound to her leg.
The wound ended up being catastrophic & we had to make the call and say a very sad goodnight and goodbye to her last night.
After inspecting the field & fence the only conclusion we can come to is that she was being chased by what we can only assume would be a dog or couple of dogs. She was so scared & frightened & desperate to get away that she ran right through a fence pulling down a strainer post and 6 other posts.
Please don’t for a second think we have any ill feeling at all toward the dogs but it is the dog owners responsibility here.
I’m begging ALL dog owners to NOT walk your dog through fields with livestock. You DO NOT have the right to roam if there is livestock in a field and your presence will cause them distress.
This accident was completely avoidable and has left us all at easterton devastated.
Thank you once again to Glasgow Equine Hospital and Practice, University of Glasgow for all their help, support & being part of the Easterton family.

It’s been hotter than normal over the UK and particularly hotter in Scotland (we love to say it!)
Here are some guidelines that I follow, having the welfare of all dogs in consideration whilst out and about.

Making sure your dog is always safe and has access to clean water & shade whenever possible as well as avoiding midday sun ☀️ (perhaps leaving your loved ones 🐶 at home during this time of day) is great guidance and a rule of thumb for myself when working with dogs.


I hope everyone enjoys the sun ☀️ whilst it comes back this week but be mindful of your pets well-being!

Being prepared for Bonfire night for all your pets is really important!
Classic FM has a dedicated playlist on Saturday this weekend and Tuesday evening.

Building a soundproof fort (using pillows, a duvet or providing a room with a safe spot & curtains closed) can be really helpful to help animals feel safer.

One whole year of Wilson’s Whiskers!
12 months ago to the day, I decided that I would follow my heart and passion, quit my job and decide to make it my mission to look after and care for dogs!

I have welcomed so many beautiful dogs (and cats!) into my life and heart ❤️, I value the time I get to spend with them, learn from them and love them as if they were my own!
I couldn’t have chosen a better profession!
