Just a little reminder that we will be CLOSED this Bank Holiday Monday as we’re taking Scraps away on his holidays!

There will be lots of walking, exploring, waterfalls and undoubtedly Scraps wondering why on earth we thought hiking was a good idea.

We’ll be back open as normal afterwards, hopefully well rested… although judging by what we’ve got planned, probably not!

Please make sure you’ve stocked up on any livefood, frozen food and other essentials you need before the Bank Holiday.

And yes… the photo is AI because we haven’t actually been yet! We’ll get some proper Scraps adventure photos while we’re there.

On Sunday, we took a little trip to Snakes 'N' Adders to pick up some stock before Charles Edward Thompson closes the doors for the final time.

It was incredibly sad knowing this would be our last visit to the shop, after so many years of Chaz being such a big part of the reptile community.

But there was one upside… WE CAME HOME WITH LOADS OF NEW ANIMALS!

Mandarin Ratsnakes really are something special!

Just look at those colours! Mandarin Ratsnakes (Euprepiophis mandarinus) are an absolutely beautiful species, with their incredible markings making them instantly recognisable.

They're a fascinating species to keep and certainly one for anyone looking for something a little different from the more commonly kept ratsnakes.

California Red-Sided Garter Snakes (Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis) are a stunning smaller species of snake, well known for their incredible combination of bright red, blue and black markings.

Their smaller size makes them a great option for keepers who want something a little different without needing the space required for some of the larger species.

They're active, inquisitive and great fun to watch — especially when food is involved!
