We have been owned by Devon Rex since 1991 and have enjoyed their wonderful companionship ever since. They are a wonderfully funny, quirky, active and fun loving breed with beautiful curly coats. All the girls we have here have been born at Maystar and most are Champion or Grand Champion winners. Queen Vee runs an amusing blog every Sunday and took over from King Slinky in 2016.The blog has run fr

om 2012 and gives any reader a good insight into the ups and downs of breeding first hand. Each day we share something of the Pride to the great wider world to entertain and make people smile.

FAITH UPDATE
Each month, Faith has a Solensia injection for her Arthritis. It works very well. Although, the first few days after having it, she gets itchy and begins licking her fur and skin off. This time, I took her back to see Vet Sandeep who has upped her steroid for 14days and I am putting chlorohexadine on the open sore (which tastes vile) it keeps fungus, bacteria and infection at bay.

We are 10days into treating the site and there is a massive improvement. I just thought you would all benefit from seeing a start to finish wound when you take the time to look after it and stop the cat from licking.

Sometimes, cats that do this require suiting so they can't lick. Some that have allergies can benefit from food changes and suiting as well as Duoxxo on the skin to relieve the itch scratch cycle and kill off the dermodex mites that feed avidly on grease.

Devon Rex are prone to URTICARIA PIGMENTOSA (Viktori has this) & Malassezia which is to do with yeast. It is very common in the older Rex lines we have here.

If you have any questions that I can help answer. Fire away.

Slavik & Mr Shrigley went in for neutering, microchips & vaccines today and are currently in recovery under a bear hugger (air heated blanket) they will be having a bowl of chicken soon.

Earlier, Malik & Elsa had their Microchips whilst awake, so we put EMLA cream on their necks. They also had their vaccines in their left hind quarters and both jumped about so much, they got stabbed twice. Elsa yelled so much with her injection, but didn't make a peep during chipping. They both ate breakfast and lunch.

MAYSTAR FAMILY UPDATE
MAE is being very brave in her new home and the canine - feline introductions are being performed nice and slowly. She has been given a safe space with a dog guard to come and go
Once she feels happier. This video clip was her first trip down stairs and she does as Mae does, yell loads when she is unsure.

Michelle and her family are doing an excellent job, it isn't easy taking on an adult cat, however, she makes up for it with heaps of love and affection.

FAQ: WHY DO YOU INSURE YOUR CATS?
Well, when a simple case of vomiting goes a bit wrong and the cats tummy filled with gas, there was so much vomiting that he was on a drip for two days, with Xrays, Scans and bloods. It soon mounts up and I would rather have peace of mind that Agria Pet Insurance will help me pay for these emergencies without quibbling and my cats can have the treatment they really need without hesitation. Some of our cats never use their insurance, but these incidents begin to level out over the year. I have never NOT had a payout from Agria.
