🐾 RUBY UPDATE 🐾

We have had so many phone calls and messages today asking about Ruby, so I thought it would be easier to update everyone here.

Ruby has NOT been rehomed yet. We are still going through the adoption process and speaking with the people involved. We had planned to update everyone a little further down the line once things were more settled.

Please understand that I simply cannot answer every phone call and message individually about Ruby. If I spent all day on the phone, none of the rescue dogs currently in our care would be getting looked after — and they have to come first. ❤️

As soon as we have a confirmed update on Ruby, we will let everyone know through the page.

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding and for caring so much about our lovely girl. 🐶❤️

📸🐾 CONGLETON DOG RESCUE 2027 CALENDAR – WE NEED YOUR PHOTOS! 🐾📸

We’re starting to put together our 2027 Congleton Dog Rescue Calendar, and we’d love it to feature the wonderful dogs who have found their forever homes through Congleton Dog Rescue during 2026. ❤️

If you adopted a dog from us this year, we’d love you to send us your favourite photo of them happy and settled in their new home.

Please send:

* Your dog’s name
* Their rescue name, if it was different
* A clear, good-quality photo
* Your name

Natural photos are perfect — out on walks, curled up at home, enjoying adventures or simply looking very pleased with themselves. 🐶❤️

Please send the original photo where possible, rather than a screenshot, so we have the best quality for printing.

We want this calendar to be a real celebration of all the dogs whose lives have changed through Congleton Dog Rescue in 2026 — and the families who gave them their happy ending.

🐾✨ REGGIE – OUR GORGEOUS 18-MONTH-OLD SMOOTH-COATED SALUKI ✨🐾

Reggie is one of those dogs who really could fit into your life and go absolutely everywhere with you. ❤️

He is 18 months old, a smooth-coated Saluki, and is currently entire.

He is clean in the house, fantastic on the lead, brilliant with people and incredibly affectionate. Reggie loves nothing more than being close to you and would happily curl up for cuddles whenever he gets the chance. He is loyal, loving and such an easy boy to have around.

He is the sort of dog you could take out for dinner, take to the pub, take away on holiday or take along on days out. He travels brilliantly and is very happy just being included in whatever you are doing. 🚗❤️

Reggie is also a perfect gentleman around other dogs. He doesn’t react to them and doesn’t bark at them.

He is good around livestock and completely unfazed by horses. He does not react to cats when he is on lead, although we would not test him off lead with cats. He may chase rabbits, as you would expect from a Saluki, but he doesn’t seem overly interested in them.

At home, Reggie has lovely manners. He doesn’t stand begging or scrounging for food, and he isn’t a dog who goes around stealing things. Being a Saluki, though, if something particularly tempting is left right on the edge of the kitchen worktop, he may well try his luck with a little counter surf! 😂

He is an absolutely fantastic boy, and somebody is going to be incredibly lucky to call him theirs. 🥹❤️🐾

🎃🐾 HELP US BUILD A HUGE HALLOWEEN DOGGY PRIZE BUNDLE! 🐾🎃

This Halloween, Congleton Dog Rescue would love to put together one huge doggy prize bundle to help raise much-needed funds for the dogs in our care. 🧡

We’ll be running a Halloween numbers board, and once all the numbers are filled, a random number generator will choose the winner.

🎁 The main winner will receive the BIG Halloween doggy bundle, packed full of treats, toys and goodies.

We’d also love to put together a few runner-up prizes too, so we’re asking our wonderful supporters and local businesses if they’d like to donate something to help us make it extra special.

We’re looking for things like dog treats, toys, chews, leads, collars, blankets, grooming goodies, vouchers or anything dog-related.

Even one little toy or packet of treats will help us build something amazing. ❤️

🐾 TINY IS LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME 🐾

Tiny is a gorgeous 9-year-old Pomeranian who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own.

His owner’s circumstances have changed and, sadly, she feels that rehoming Tiny is now the best thing for him. He is currently living in shared accommodation and deserves a home where he can have the space, routine and attention he needs.

Tiny is described as a lovely, friendly, bubbly little dog who loves people and enjoys plenty of fuss once he has had a little time to get to know you.

He still has plenty of life in him and enjoys around 2–3 walks a day, as well as time in the garden. He loves being out on the grass, knows basic commands such as sit and lie down, and is good on the lead.

Tiny is:

• 9 years old – birthday 29th November
• Not neutered
• Vaccinations up to date
• Fully house trained
• Good with other dogs and has previously lived happily with another dog
• Good with cats – he has spent a week living in the same household as a cat with no issues
• No history of aggression towards people or animals
• Fine travelling in the car
• Can be left for around 4–6 hours
• May bark for a few minutes when first left but then settles
• Happy to be picked up once he knows and trusts you
• Has no known ongoing health conditions and takes no medication
• Currently registered with Blue House Vets in Biddulph

Tiny has always been walked on lead, so his recall has not really been tested.

He has not been around children, so we cannot say how he would be with them and this would need to be taken into consideration when matching him with the right home.

Tiny is currently fed Bakers morning and evening and is very good at letting you know when he needs to go outside for the toilet.

At 9 years old, this lovely little boy deserves a secure, loving home where he can enjoy the next chapter of his life as part of a family. ❤️

As always, we are looking for the right home, not simply the first home.

A LITTLE REMINDER ABOUT ADOPTION APPLICATIONS 🐾

We completely understand how disappointing it can be when you apply for a dog and aren’t successful.

But please remember that for some dogs we receive dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of applications. It is simply not possible for our small rescue team to personally reply to every single applicant.

An application is not a guarantee of adoption. Our job is to choose the home we believe is the very best match for that individual dog — their temperament, needs, lifestyle and long-term welfare must always come first.

If you are not chosen, it does not mean your home is unsuitable or that your application has been ignored. It may simply mean another home was a better fit for that particular dog.

What is becoming increasingly difficult is the number of angry messages, accusations and negative comments we receive when somebody doesn’t get the dog they wanted.

Please remember we are dealing with rescue dogs, not allocating items on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our team gives an enormous amount of time to these dogs, and we simply cannot spend hours defending every adoption decision on social media.

We will always put the dog first. Every single time. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who understands, supports the rescue and treats our volunteers with kindness. It really does make a difference. 🐾

🐾✨ BERTIE IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! ✨🐾

Our gorgeous Bertie is a 5-year-old neutered Yorkshire Terrier, and after spending a little time with us settling in, this lovely little man is now READY to find his forever family! 🏡❤️

And what a little sweetheart he is! 🥹

Bertie loves his walks, is great on the lead, has been brilliant off lead, has a good appetite and is clean in his kennel. He’s a happy, affectionate little character who just wants to be loved. 💙

He can live alongside other dogs, but we really feel Bertie would be happiest as the only dog in the home — not because he doesn’t like other dogs, but because this little chap wants all the cuddles, all the fuss and all the attention for himself! 😂❤️

He is such a sweet little boy and somebody is going to be incredibly lucky to have him.

🌟 Clean in his kennel
🌟 Good appetite
🌟 Could live with dogs, but would love to be your one and only

We couldn’t tell you what he’s like with children because he has never lived with them so we would have to put older children down maybe 11 and over
If you have grandchildren visiting, you would have to pop him in a crate

Also in the previous Home, we were told that he would run and bite at your feet, but we haven’t seen any of that personally so maybe that’s just a habit that you will have to look into if he gets into that in your home

🐾 PHOEBE HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME 🐾

Our beautiful little Phoebe has officially found her happy ever after. ❤️

She has gone to a wonderful family where she is already settling in beautifully. She even has a lovely little companion called Waffle, and we’ve been told the two of them are already getting closer and were both fast asleep together earlier. 🥹❤️

Waffle herself was once a little rescue girl, so it feels extra special knowing Phoebe has gone to a family who understand just how precious these dogs are.

And it sounds like Phoebe has landed firmly on all four paws — she’ll even be heading off to the Isle of Wight in the motorhome for 10 days at the end of September! 🏖️🐶

From coming into rescue needing a new chapter, to now having a loving home, a little furry friend and adventures ahead of her… this is exactly what rescue is all about.

Be happy, beautiful Phoebe. You deserve every bit of it. ❤️🐾

🐾❤️ A LITTLE FUNDRAISER WITH A LOT OF LOVE ❤️🐾

We had the loveliest message from Penny, Walter and Sonic’s mum, and we just had to share it.

Penny has been busy making and selling homemade dog biscuits locally and, from her little fundraiser, she is very kindly donating £25 to the rescue. 🥹🐾

It may be £25, but to a rescue like ours it means so much more than that. It’s food, treats, fuel, vet care and all the little things that help us keep going and continue finding wonderful homes for dogs just like beautiful Walter.

And that makes it even more special — Walter was once one of the dogs waiting for his happy ever after, and now his family are giving something back to help the next dog waiting for theirs. ❤️

Penny, thank you so much for your kindness, your time and all those biscuits you’ve been busy making and selling! 🍪🐶

Please give Walter and Sonic a huge cuddle from all of us.

🎉🐾💖 MAISIE HAS FOUND HER HAPPY EVER AFTER! 💖🐾🎉

Oh Maisie… just look how far you’ve come. 🥹❤️

After everything this beautiful girl has been through, today she had the most wonderful meet & greet and we honestly couldn’t have wished for anything better.

And then there was Lyra… her absolutely delightful new sister. 🐾💕
The two of them were just BESIDE THEMSELVES with each other — happy, excited, playful and already looking like they were meant to be together. 🥰

Maisie is going from hardship and uncertainty to a life filled with love, beautiful country walks, adventures with her new sister, cosy evenings and, most importantly, a family who will absolutely adore her. 🌳🐕🐕❤️

This is the bit of rescue that makes every difficult day worth it.

From a girl who needed someone to believe in her… to a girl who now has the most fantastic home and a whole new life waiting for her.

Go and live your very best life, beautiful Maisie. You deserve every single second of it. 💖
