It’s National Greyhound Day, it’s Insight Hounds’ 4th birthday, and it’s also my birthday too
Greyhounds have shaped my life in ways I never imagined.
They are the inspiration behind Insight Hounds, and our greyhound Oscar was a huge part of that. He taught me so much, and in many ways, he helped set me on this path.
I’m so grateful to everyone who has played a part in the last 4 years. I’ve shared a photo of the people and greyhounds who were in our very first group, which feels extra special today.
When I look back, there are so many moments that stand out.
The little wins.
The unsure dogs finding their feet.
The families learning to read the little signals the body language
The “oh, that makes sense now” moments.
The friendships.
The social walks.
The humour
The dogs who have grown in confidence.
Insight Hounds has always been about more than training. It’s about understanding, communication, connection, and making life feel better for both ends of the lead.
Thank you to everyone who has trained with us, supported me, shared posts, recommended Insight Hounds, joined classes, come to events, or quietly cheered us on in the background. It all means so much.
And of course, behind the scenes, greyhounds and sighthounds are such a huge part of our own family too.
National Greyhound Day is also a lovely chance to shine a light on these wonderful dogs, challenge a few myths, celebrate those already in homes, and give a big shout out to the fabulous volunteers and charities working so hard for greyhounds every day.
Thank you for being part of Insight Hounds and the last 4 years.
I’m always happy to see sighthound photos feel free to share them below.
