Sighthounds have shaped my life in ways I never expected, and I know I’m not alone in that!

They’re one of the most misunderstood groups of dogs, and one of the groups most in need of understanding, with thousands looking for homes every year.

I’m very excited to announce the very first Sighthound Spotlight Day will be on 30th April 2026.

This new national day is a chance to:
• Celebrate all sighthounds and their wonderful quirks
• Share stories and bust the myths about these incredible dogs
• Recognise and celebrate the rehoming centres, rescues and volunteers who support them
• Celebrate the businesses inspired by sighthounds and the super sighthound community

The date is personal for me. It’s the day I adopted my first sighthound, who changed the course of my life.

Please share and help us spread the word. By sharing stories, busting myths and celebrating the people who make a difference, together we can shine a light on sighthounds.

If this day helps a few more people understand them and a few more hounds find homes, then it will have done its job.

Happy Birthday, Cracker 🎉
Cracker was one of the very first dogs to join our Insight Hounds classes and we’ve adored him from the start. He’s thoughtful, calm, and loves enrichment games. As a big brother to the whirlwind that is Lyra, Cracker is the steady boy when she’s bouncing about, and together they make a fabulous pair.
Enrichment games are a real favourite, especially the box game, which he plays with such enthusiasm. This is when we really see another side to him.
He’s popular and the quiet observer of our late Friday crew, which has some very bouncy characters. During the break, Cracker will happily take himself off for a lie down, keeping a gentle eye on the action and having a fabulous calming presence. (Unless boxes are about! )
Cracker’s relationship with Kate is simply beautiful. The way he looks at her shows how much he adores her, and the bond between them is wonderful to see.
He’s perfectly adorable and an absolute joy. We are very lucky to know you, Cracker. Happy Birthday, handsome boy 🐾

🎉Happy Birthday to the one and only Duke

Duke adores his sister Roxy (AKA the twins) and he’s such a special boy. He came into class with some pretty advanced dogs and has always made it clear when he’s had enough. At first, one or two reps would wear him out and he’d need a little lie down or a reset with his “two paws up.”

These days he’ll happily do more and more reps, though every so often he still reminds us that breaks matter. The other week he gave us a classic Duke moment when he did a few brilliant paws up and then decided a nap mid-class was in order (see if you can spot the photo).

He’s grown so much in confidence since settling into life with Roxy. Angie and Nigel absolutely adore him, and the feeling is clearly mutual. With plenty of enrichment and fun, Duke really has blossomed into such a superstar.

Duke, you’re one in a million. We love seeing all the progress you’ve made. Happy Birthday! 🐾

Social Walk at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens 🐾🍂

This Sunday we’re heading out for our monthly social walk at the beautiful Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens. It’s always a favourite spot with plenty of space for the hounds to enjoy and a lovely chance for us to catch up together.

Date: Sunday 19th October
Time: Meet at 10:30am
Place: Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens

Entry fees apply. Please check the Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens website for details. All dogs must be on lead.
