Risk Assessing: Environment, Hazards & Equipment:
Every groom begins with a full risk assessment at Tails School of Grooming. As part of our City & Guilds courses, students learn how to identify hazards, assess risk, and create a safe grooming environment for every dog. We check the environment, equipment, electrical hazards, escape points, noise levels, trip hazards, storage risks, handling risks, and anything that could affect a dog’s welfare.

Safety starts before the groom begins. Risk assessing protects dogs, groomers, and the grooming process.

🐾 Looking for Westies & Breed‑Standard Terriers - Discounted Supervised Grooms Offered 🐾

Szilvi, one of our students, did a beautiful job grooming this Westie this week. After a thorough prep and careful coat work, the finish really highlighted the breed’s classic outline, with the head shaped to give that iconic Westie look and bright expression.

We’d love to welcome more Westies and other breed‑standard terriers into the salon; they’re great for our students to gain experience with. If you or someone you know has a Westie or breed‑standard terrier you’d like trimmed to breed standard, we offer discounted supervised grooming to support our students’ practical training.
