“We’ve enjoyed working through all the levels over the last 18 months – although some were easier than others. The final one took the longest because we discovered Otis was not a fan of pivoting on a box!” 📦

Mary and her young family share their experience of going through ALL the levels here at Sussex County Dog Training 💪🏆

✨ Overcoming Challenges
“Pivoting both ways was the challenge – turns out he doesn’t like turning anti-clockwise. But with time and patience, we eventually got him there!”

✨ Proudest Moments
“We were absolutely thrilled when he achieved his certificates. The boys thought a skateboarding cockapoo was the funniest thing they’d ever seen, but our proudest moment was Otis finally getting all six scents during our Level 1 scent work trial.” 👃🎉

Even with busy jobs, the family found classes that fit their schedules – and having the boys involved has been brilliant. Recently, they’ve even started gundog training with Ali and Tamara. 🐕‍🦺

What’s it like bringing a 9-week-old puppy into a house with two young children and a rabbit? 🐇🐶

“We’d never had a dog before, but our youngest loves animals and had been asking for ages. After a lot of thought, we decided as a family that we were ready and agreed on everything we’d need to do – from walking to training.” 💭

It’s that time again! Darker evenings can take some getting used to for us as well as our dogs. 🐾

Do you change up your routine when the clocks go back – earlier walks, brighter lights, adjusting mealtimes – or do you keep things the same?

🐾 Attention Dog Owners! 🐾

At Sussex County Dog Training, we are devoted to the health and safety of our precious pets! Today, we want to share important information about kennel cough, so you can help keep our training environment safe for all dogs.

What is Kennel Cough?
Kennel cough, or canine infectious tracheobronchitis, is a highly contagious respiratory infection that can spread rapidly among dogs, especially in group settings. It's important to be informed to keep our pups safe!

Symptoms to Look For:
- A dry, persistent cough
- Sneezing or nasal discharge
- Loss of appetite
- Lethargy
- Mild fever

If your dog is displaying any of these symptoms, we kindly ask you not to bring them to classes until they have fully recovered.

Your cooperation ensures that all our puppies and dogs stay healthy and happy! If your dog cannot attend class due to kennel cough, please inform us, and we will gladly add credit to your account for future classes.

We're committed to the welfare of every pup that walks through our doors, and together, we can create a safe, thriving environment for our beloved dogs. Thank you for being a part of our community! 🐶❤️
