ATTENTION

Good afternoon,

We have had a lovely dog brought in to us, who wishes to be reunited with their family.

The dog is microchipped, but unfortunately it appears that the details are not up to date.

If anyone is missing their pooch, please feel free to contact the clinic. As the microchip details are not up to date we will require proof of ownership and ideally the microchip details need updating.

Thank you,

🐶🐕🐾

EDIT*********

The little dog has still not been reunited unfortunately, but has been handed over to the care of our local dog warden.

Very proud of our resident Vet Razvan who has been nominated for Vet of the Year for the second time!

Of course he had to pose with the handsome Slinky!😍

Let’s share the support for Dr Mihailescu and share some good comments/pictures of him and your pets.

July 16th marks Guinea Pig Appreciation Day! And what a fabulous day it is!

I personally love it when Guinea Pigs come to visit the clinic and would love to see some pictures of your piggies in the comments below!

These little furry potatoes really do make wonderful pets and have such cheeky characters.

To celebrate all things piggy let’s have some facts!

-Guinea pigs are unable to produce their own vitamin C (much like humans!) so require this in their diet.

-A sign a guinea pig is happy or excited is when they display ‘popcorning’. This behaviour is named due to the way in which they spring into the air, and twist their body, much like a kernel of corn.

-Guinea pigs are very social animals and should not be kept alone unless there are medical/neccessary reasons for doing so.

-Male Guinea pigs are called Boars and female guinea pigs are called Sows. Their babies are called Pups.

-Guinea pig pups are born with their eyes open and fur. Like a super duper mini piggy!

-The oldest recorded Guinea Pig lived to be 14 years and 10.5months old!

There so many amazing facts and mentions in history of these rodents, feel free to share some of your own below.

Below you can see photos of our nurse Jessica’s piggy family both past and present.

With temperatures rising it is important our pet parents are aware of the dangers the heat can cause. The below imagery is a great way to highlight the dangerous temperatures and when to avoid walking dogs or exercising them.

Some tips to keep our pets cool include:

-Walking them in the early hours of the day and late evening when temperatures drop. 🐾

-Missing a walk if the weather is just too warm (no doggy has ever become ill from not being walked, just a bit sulky). 🐶

-Always ensure fresh drinking water is available. 💦

-Not allowing pets to sunbathe for extended periods of time. ☀️

-Cooling pads/blocks can offer some restbite from the heat for dogs/cats and smaller furries too. 🐇

Good afternoon to all on another sunny day☀️

It has come to the team’s attention that there is talk across social media regarding the opening of the new clinic in March, and what this means for us here at Triovets. I hope to clarify this in the below.

- It is true, we did previously hope to open the building in March as a second Triovet clinic and I know many local to the area were excited for this new development. Unfortunately due to a number of circumstances, it was no longer actionable to proceed with that plan and so we remain with the one clinic based here in Chatteris. That clinic is open and running as usual.

-It is true that a new veterinary practice is planning to open in March in that same building. This practice is wholly separate from the team here at Triovet, as is their services. They have their own socials created and website which interested parties can access to learn more. We wish this new clinic and team the best of luck in their endeavours.

-It is also true that a previous member of the Triovet team is leading the opening of this new clinic and I think this is where the confusion is happening. The majority of the team here at Triovets are the same faces you are all familiar with and trust.

Rest assured, Triovets is not ‘dissolving’ and our team is still right here, working hard to help those you love. Admittedly, some of our team are melting in this unbearable heat🤣, but that’s a story for another time I think!

I hope this puts to rest the various rumours going around and any concerns you may have had. We do plan to be a little more active with our socials and I wonder whether a ‘Meet the Team’ update would be beneficial.

Enjoy the sun and keep those pets cool

-Triovet 🐕🐈
