These look like a brilliant enrichment upgrade for tortoise keepers.

Packed with natural grasses, leaves and edible flowers, these trays are designed to encourage proper grazing and foraging behaviour rather than just feeding from a bowl.

It’s a simple idea but a really effective one that helps add stimulation, variety and a more natural feeding experience to captive setups. Great alongside a regular fresh diet.

Definitely one worth checking out if you want to make feeding time more engaging and closer to how tortoises behave in the wild.

Personally i think these are one of the most impressive stick insect species in the hobby, Thorny Devils are easy to care for, fascinating to watch and make a great first pet insect.

They feed on common leaves such as bramble, raspberry and rose, making them straightforward to keep.

We also have plenty of Indian Stick Insects and Leaf Insects available.

Gargoyle Gecko Eggs!

Granted, this photo is actually one of last year's babies contemplating whether or not it was worth leaving its nice warm egg...

But after what feels like forever, we've finally had our first eggs of the season!

Nothing particularly dramatic happened she just decided to keep us waiting and hold onto those eggs a little longer than expected. As always, geckos work to their own schedule, not ours.

Now the waiting game begins again and we're looking forward to seeing what eventually pops out.

Bit of an announcement!

You may have noticed some weird stickers turning up all over the shop the past few months. This is what they’ve all been for.

I’ll be joining MaQ and Andy on Friday Night Live this Friday at 9pm for a chat about reptiles, husbandry, running a shop, standards in the hobby and whatever other tangents happen to pop up.

Looking forward to this one. I’ve enjoyed watching what they’re building with these podcasts and the different people they’ve been bringing on from across the hobby.

With the temperatures we’re getting at the moment, bug balls are one of the best things you can use for feeder insects.

Dehydration is one of the biggest causes of livefood deaths, especially in hot weather.

Bug balls provide a constant source of moisture without the problems that come with open water dishes. Crickets, locusts, dubias and other feeders can drown easily in standing water, so bug balls are a much safer option.

Why use them:

• Help prevent dehydration
• Reduce livefood losses in hot weather
• Less mess and spills
• Keep feeders healthier for your reptiles
