๐พ Ready to boost your agility performance? Here are 5 tips to help you and your furry friend shine on the course โจ
๐ช Work on strength & power - Learn how to condition the body to improve strength & power, use exercises to target specific areas of the body needed for agility. This will help with better acceleration and deceleration, more efficient jumps, reduce the risk of injury and more!
โ๏ธ Improve balance & body awareness - Create a fitness plan to work on balance and body awareness, this will help with cleaner and tighter turns, more efficient movement, and help your dog get out of potentially sticky situations like a slip on the dog walk.
๐คธโโ๏ธ Work on flexibility and ROM - The more flexible your dog is, the tighter they will be able to turn. The greater their range of motion, the longer their strides will become which will increase speed, along with other benefits.
๐โโ๏ธ Cardio - The better your dogs cardio, the faster they will be able to tackle the course. They will also be able to keep that speed up throughout the course and not slow towards the end.
๐ด Rest days - Often overlooked, rest days are crucial, even for active dogs! They allow the body to heal and strengthen after a hard training session. They also allow the mind to recover too.
