It’s Friday again!!!!

I know I said I was not going to but…

This week’s most devastatingly gorgeous award goes to ‘the roses’ - a tough category with the peonies still in bloom and some ridiculous Eremurus being cut. The roses are so opulent, they smell incredible they’re gigantic and I’ve got a fabulous mix of zesty fruit salad colours in silken ruffled petals and very sophisticated muted, vintage tones in classic rose forms with their strong thick petals. All perfumed of course.

Thrown into the mix are my precious Gallica roses, that colour doesn’t come from anywhere else. It’s so rich, deep and velvety… I could go on but I won’t!

My sweet posies - how I adore making them up! Every Friday morning I get to create little seasonal flower worlds that go off to brighten up your homes. It’s such a treat and a creative outlet I cherish as time often gets in the way of creativity in farming. It can be incredibly demanding and putting plants in the ground, weeding, seeding and feeding always seems to trump making a creation for the vase, so a huge thank you to everyone that stops by the wonderful Ardardan Estate farm shop to pick a bunch up.

It’s been a bit of a challenge this year with moving house and with that a large chunk of my growing space. I expected gaps especially as I did not sow any seeds this year (except amaranthus which have just gone in the earth). My perennials and overwintered plants have stood me in good stead so far 🙏🏼

I have restocked already today so there will be posies available for you tomorrow. We have big open peonies mixed with tight in bud (to extend the joy), Dutch iris in the gorgeous azure blue and a stunning rich umber, scented hesperis, some Sicilian honey garlic, a few late ranuncs, polemonium, Astrantia and heuchera flowers. Don’t forget the allium too which I’d advise you dry and use for some natural Xmas decs, huzzah! 🎉💞

How many times can I say gorgeous in one reel?

Orchard looking…. Enchanting, romantic, enthralling… after a good week’s neglect.

I’ve already planted some bulbs here (very, very late) but excited to add more this autumn. It feels magical surrounded by trees. If you look up from the bottom through the apple trees you can just make out the house, like a fairytale.

I ordered tulips this morning - how exciting! I’ll update on that but for now I need to get back to cutting the grass, it grows faster than I can mow. Ride on us out of action but enjoying the exercise (for now)💞

That’s us back home after a whirlwind weekend up at - I had the best time chatting flowers with everyone I always feel quite emotional at Scone surrounded by my lovely tribe, the atmosphere is just incredible.

A huge thanks you to everyone that stopped by for a chat and to everyone that bought a piece from my stand. I’ve sold out of most sizes in the overalls and completely of the florals (I even sold the one off my back 😆) which is incredible!! I’ll be restocking in a few weeks, looking forward to sharing that process with you🎉

Thank you to everyone that came to listen to my talk and demo - I’ll be sending out the overview to those of you that left your email addresses 🙏🏼 let’s get that ranunculus support group on the go!

Hello flowery gang!

A little late afternoon update from me - what a week this week is - today I planted the very first flowers in the ground. I’ve laid out lots in pots but the dahlias going in now we’ll be the first blooms here. Feels like a momentous occasion after all the set up.

We’ve been gearing up for our new hens arriving on Thursday morning (yaaay) then Thursday afternoon I’m heading up to Scone Palace to set up my stand flogging my wares (overalls and finally the aprons are ready 🎉) While I’m up there I’m super excited to be doing a little talk and demo in the Potting Shed on the Saturday at 12.30.

Also, how crazy is the weather??!!! It’s a heatwave now and my irrigation is not in place yet… hand watering thousands of little black pots has been a very long meditation on repeat🧘🏻‍♀️

Morning guys!! I’ve been out picking the last of the big ranunculus. These were started last year and overwintered under protection of the big tunnel but space is a premium so the plants will get pulled now the biggest flowers have been cut and new crops will go in to replace them.

That means this week will be the last you’ll see of these beauties until the January started corms bloom. The cold night temperatures are slowing outside production down so it will be a few weeks (at least 😮‍💨) before we see them again!!

I’m heading out the door now with a beautiful big order for Lush, Buchanan street for all you Glasgow flower lovers. They sold out super fast last week so make sure to get in sharpish 🥰

Lots and lots of gorrrrgeous ranunculus will be going out in all orders this week - I’m heading up to Lush, Buchanan street right now with a big order so I’d get along there fast if you want to get your hands on some of these delights 😍

After Lush I’ll be back to cut more beauties for Denise and the team at then off to make up my own posies which will be out for 10am at the wonderful farm shop 🎉

The ranunculus are here and taking my breath away… they are just so, so incredibly beautiful… all is forgiven ranunculus!!! They do need a bit of extra care but they’re completely worth it. Im finding it a challenge to start cutting them 🫣

These blooms are grown from specialty cut flower varieties, I have selected the largest corm size for the largest flowers. A true premium beauty 👌🏼

The sun has been sunning and with it bringing out all the beauty - how incredible are these tulips??? Just one of many gorgeous blooms harvested today and heading out in all deliveries for the weekend.

It’s super hard to get any work done when the flowers are just so breathtakingly gorgeous 💞
