BREAKING: Royal Vizsla Lineage Discovered!

After a routine DNA check, we’ve discovered one of our rescued Hungarian Vizslas is of noble descent directly related to the ancient canine line of Archduke Otto the Pointer, official dog of the Austro-Hungarian court.

It turns out King Charles’ love for Transylvania (which was once part of Hungary) goes deeper than we thought. Royal records reveal that the King Charles Spaniel was originally meant to be a Vizsla, but the royal tailors couldn’t find enough red velvet to match their coats, so the plan was scrapped.

We’re now in urgent talks with the Palace about restoring the Vizsla’s rightful place in history and potentially adding a Viscount Vizsla to the royal household.

🆘 Please help 🙏🏻

We are getting daily requests to help dogs like these, abandoned, dumped on the streets, living in awful shelters 😞

All these dogs now have their ‘happy ever afters’ with thanks to our amazing supporters

but….we have mounting vet costs that we need to pay and our bank account is running on fumes

If you can spare anything we would be so grateful so we can continue to help Vizslas and Pointers in need.

Meet Otto available to adopt 🖤🤍

Otto is a German Wire Haired Pointer that was rescued from a shelter with two female GWPs.
Most likely thrown out by hunters 😞

Otto is around 15-18 months old and is now loving life in foster.
Blood tests are clear, fully vaccinated and will be neutered prior to travel

Otto is a sweet, kind natured boy that loves a cuddle. He loves the visiting grandchildren and is very happy around other dogs male and female

Meet Amira 🧡

Amira is a young Vizsla/mix girl that is looking for her new family

Sadly she was kept on a chain in the garden and then her owner died so she has come into our care

She is only around two years old and is now enjoying her time in foster in Hungary

Amira has integrated well with her new pack enjoying the company of the other dogs.

This lovely Pointer girl Remi has come back into our care due to the owners change in circumstances.
A very hard decision for them and totally unforeseen

Remi (was Ivy) was rescued in Hungary with her brothers as abandoned puppies.
She has flourished since being in the UK and is now with one of our fosters.

- 18 months old
- Not spayed (had a season in September)
- Has lived with young children
- Loves other dogs
- Cat friendly

We have nothing negative to say about Remi, she is a sweet, loving girl and we have a glowing report from her foster

Remi is currently in the Norwich area

This amazing boy is now safe and out of the filthy shelter and enjoying love and fur friends in foster

He’s around 18 months old and we’ve called him Sidney. Although he had only been in the shelter a short time he must have been abandoned a while ago as he is very skinny

It won’t be long and we will be looking for Sidney’s new family 🧡

Meet Hamish the German Wire Haired Pointer. Hamish was rescued in Hungary from life on a chain.

He has had a lovely few months in foster here but now it’s time to find his forever family

2 years old, neutered and great with other dogs and people. He’s a cheeky fun loving boy
Hamish is currently living with a female GWP and it would be nice for him to have a resident dog for company.
Hamish can’t live with cats

He needs an experienced home that will give him the active, fun life he deserves

Hamish does have a strong prey drive and can lose focus on walks but can recall and this would need continued training. He needs some more confidence around traffic and trucks in particular

🆘‼️ Urgent Help Please 🙏🏻

Another abandoned dog in a shelter!!

This gorgeous Vizsla boy is only young and very underweight and we have been asked to get him to safety

We have daily requests for help at the moment and the teams in Hungary and the the UK, who are all volunteers, are under constant pressure 😞

We need money for single every dog we rescue, transport, vet bills, blood tests, vaccines, meds, food and keep whilst in our care

If you can spare anything, even a £1, we would be so grateful and we can get this boy out as soon as possible 🧡

- Meet gorgeous Cruz

Cruz is 6 years old and has been in the care of one of our experienced fosters in the UK for a while.
He has proved to be a gorgeous, sociable and well balanced boy.

Cruz was originally rescued from a shelter in Hungary

He is a little charmer and would be suited as a solo dog or in household with a resident dog as long as he gets plenty of human attention

He adores attention and is incredibly keen to love and be loved. He shows no signs of separation anxiety and never chews, although stuffed toys “get it” 😆

He sleeps downstairs (with a nightlight) but would be extremely happy to snuggle up with his human, and stay still all night.
He is currently living with three other Vizslas, two males and one female

Unlike most, he is happy with a sofa and a garden. Loves his outdoor walks and responds extremely well and quickly to the whistle, yet although he loves his time outside, he still struggles with exits but this can be overcome with time and patience

He has recently been given the “all clear” with heart worm and is fully fit and healthy and up to date with vaccines

These beautiful puppies are 3 weeks old and looking for their new families

They are a mix of English Setter and German Shorthaired Pointer and unwanted from a hunter in Hungary.
Two males and one female pup

They will not travel until they are old enough with all their vaccines, rabies around the middle of May. In the meantime they will get everything they need

If you have HPR breed experience and can give one of these puppies the life they need please contact us.

They will need an active home that will put in the necessary training to keep them physically and mentally stimulated

🆘 ‼️ We need your help 🙏🏻

This old Vizsla girl is on the streets and we have been asked by locals to rescue her

We think she is around 8-10 years old and we need her into the safety and warmth of a foster home

We can’t agree to take her unless we have donations to pay for her care, vets, food, vaccines, and anything else she needs

January and February is always a very difficult time for us with so many dogs needing help and funds are at an all time low

The team have been contacted about 2 young German Wire Haired Pointers, GWPs that are in an awful shelter 😢

We don’t have any more information about them at the moment but just know we need to get them to safety and out of the concrete kennel

With daily requests for help our finances are stretched more than ever before

Vizslamentés UK Rescue Trust (registered charity number 1162503) is a UK based charity which supports the only specialist HPR breed rescue in Hungary – our sister organisation Vizslamentés Magyarorszag. We provide funding, support and carefully selected adoptive homes for vizslas and other pointers rescued and rehabilitated in Hungary.
