Hi, I’m Carys, the City & Guilds trained groomer behind Coat & Comb. I offer professional 1-2-1 dog grooming from my home in Canonbie. The space has been designed entirely with dogs in mind, from the high-quality equipment I’ve invested in to the hand selected products I use. We had the absolutely precious Barney the Cockapoo puppy back in the studio for his latest groom today!

We gave him a gorgeous, fluffy refresh today, making sure his beautiful coat is perfectly blown out, silky soft, and completely tangle-free. We kept his signature sweet puppy expression with a beautifully rounded teddy bear trim around his face, leaving him looking extra cuddly and ready for his close-up.😍📸

Look who popped in to see us!🥺💖

The studio had a very special milestone session today—the absolutely beautiful Maisie the Goldendoodle puppy came in for her very first puppy appointment! 🐾

First salon visits are all about building trust and showing our littlest clients that grooming is nothing to be afraid of. Today, we gently introduced her to bathing and blow drying, taking everything at her own pace with plenty of reassurance.

She took all the new sounds and bubbly sensations completely in her stride and she finished her session with the biggest, happiest puppy smile. 🥰📸

Maisie’s First Puppy Steps:
Splash Time: A gentle, warm bath to introduce her to the water in a fun and positive way.

Brave Blow Dry: A slow, low-pressure introduction to the dryer sounds and feel, ensuring she felt safe and secure throughout.

Positive Paws: Lots of cuddles, praise, and sweet moments to set her up for a lifetime of happy spa days!

A gorgeous girl has joined the club! 🐾✨

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the beautiful Bella the German Shepherd to the studio for her very first groom with us today!

German Shepherd coats are magnificent, but that thick double coat sure knows how to hold onto loose hair! We gave her a thorough, deep de-shed to clear out all that trapped undercoat, leaving her feeling much lighter, cooler, and incredibly soft. We also gave her feathers and outline a precision tidy-up so she left looking perfectly polished and sleek! 💁‍♀️🐕‍🦺

Bella was an absolute superstar on the table from start to finish. Just look at that proud, gorgeous posture—she definitely knows she looks like a total queen! 😍📸

The Ultimate De-shed: Removing heaps of loose undercoat to let her skin breathe and minimise shedding at home.

Welcome to the studio, Charlie! ✨🐾

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the handsome Charlie the Springer Spaniel for his very first groom with us today! it was our first time getting to know him, and he completely stole our hearts.

To say he was a good boy is an understatement—Charlie was a total gentleman throughout the entire process! From the bath to the blowout and the final precision trim, he sat beautifully and took everything completely in his stride. He made our job an absolute breeze! 🥰

We focused on a clean, classic spaniel tidy to keep him looking dapper but completely ready for his favourite countryside walks. Just look at that wise, gentle face! 📸🐕‍🦺

We had the gorgeous Luna the Cockapoo back in the studio for her latest groom! She is always such a little sweetheart to have on the table.

With the weather keeping us on our toes, we decided to leave her coat a little bit longer this time around. It keeps her looking like a beautifully plush, cuddly teddy bear while still being perfectly neat, tidy, and completely tangle-free! Just look at those big brown eyes, she definitely knows how to work her angles! 😍📸

We had the gorgeous Sadie the Cocker Spaniel back in the salon for her latest groom today. She is always such an absolute angel to pamper, and she certainly knows how to work the camera!

We gave her full coat a fresh, beautiful reset, making sure her rich colouring is looking vibrant and those signature long spaniel ears are silky soft and tangle-free. She left us looking incredibly sleek, tidy, and 100% ready to strut her stuff on her weekend walks! 😍📸

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the incredibly handsome Arlo the Sprocker Spaniel to the studio for his very first groom with us! It was our first time getting to know him and work with his gorgeous coat.

Being a Springer x Cocker cross, Sprockers have that beautiful, thick coat that needs just the right balance—keeping them tidy and smart while making sure they are perfectly practical for all those muddy spaniel adventures! Arlo was a total superstar on the table from start to finish.

The studio had a very important milestone, the absolutely beautiful Callie the Cavapoo puppy came in for her first ever groom! 🐾

First salon visits are all about building trust, confidence, and making sure everything feels like a fun game. Callie was an absolute little superstar from the moment her paws touched the table. She took all the new sights, sounds, and smells completely in her stride!

We focused on a gentle introduction to the bath and dryer, along with a neat little trim to clear the fluff away from those gorgeous, soulful eyes. Just look at that perfect puppy face—she knows she did a great job! 😍
