Not every wedding dog is the picture-perfect, bombproof dog that happily strolls down the aisle without a care in the world - but these guys managed it!

Rupert, Nala and Freddie all came with their own quirks, challenges and individual needs. Their owners chose Waggy Wedding Events not because we simply love dogs (although we absolutely do!), but because they wanted experienced behaviourists by their side who could understand their dogs, advocate for them and ensure they felt safe, comfortable and happy throughout the day.

As qualified behaviourists, we know how to read body language, recognise when a dog needs a break, manage arousal levels and adapt plans to suit the dog in front of us. Sometimes that means walking down the aisle. Sometimes it means supporting from the sidelines. Either way, the dog's welfare always comes first.

We're incredibly grateful that Rupert, Nala and Freddie's families trusted us with such an important role in their wedding day. It means the world when owners put their faith in our expertise to help their dogs be part of their biggest moments.

🐶🐕 Beautiful Bella is next in line to be the very impawtent guest at her pawrents wedding this weekend.

💓 Amongst her many duties, she'll be chief ring bearer helping them to seal the deal 💍

Today we had the pleasure of spending the day with Bao and whilst he absolutely smashed it, the biggest challenge of the day definitely wasn't the guests, photos or excitement… it was the heat.

When temperatures rise, our priorities change. Looking cute in photos is great, but keeping dogs comfortable and safe always comes first.

Today Bao had:
• A cooling collar on for most of the day
• A cool mat available for breaks
• Plenty of fresh water throughout the day
• Regular indoor breaks and shady spots to rest
• Lots of monitoring to make sure he was staying comfortable

Dogs don't regulate heat like we do, and wedding days can already be a lot for them with new people, excitement and long days. Heat can quickly add another layer of stress.

As qualified behaviourists and canine first aid trained professionals, part of our role isn't just being there for the cute moments. It's understanding body language, spotting subtle signs that a dog may be becoming uncomfortable, stressed or too warm, and knowing what action to take before it becomes a problem.

One of the biggest parts of what we do isn't just handling dogs on a wedding day, it's reading them, adapting plans and making sure they're genuinely enjoying the experience too.

Bao absolutely nailed today while staying cool, comfortable and safe.

Dog welfare always comes before the perfect photo. ❤️
