Stuart and Kevin are available for adoption! 🏡💕

✨ Name: Stuart and Kevin
🐱 Breed: Domestic Shorthair
🎂 Age: 2 years
💖 Personality: After coming in as strays, they have been a bit shy, but are slowly coming out of their shell. Once they get to know you, they are full of beans.
👫 Perfect match: A home with older children would be best suited, and due to never living with another dog or cat, they would also be best suited as the only pets in the home. They would also love access to a garden.
📍 Currently at: Bedfordshire

💬 Stuart and Kevin says:
"Hi! We're Stuart and Kevin. Even though we do love exploring, we do really enjoy cuddles and as much as my brother makes a great pillow, I would love to have a cuddle on a sofa next to you! If you feel like you could offer us a forever home, please apply today!"

🐾🌊 Last year, we teamed up with our friends at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary to raise awareness about the dangers seals face on our beaches – and with summer drawing to a close, we want to share this important message again.

⚠️ Ring-style frisbees may be fun for dogs, but if lost at sea they can cause life-threatening injuries to seals and other wildlife.

🐶💙 As we head into seal pup season (Sept–Mar), please also keep an eye out while walking your dog. If you spot a pup, don’t approach or touch it, and always keep your dog on a lead – mum is often close by in the water.

📞 If you’re ever concerned about a pup, you can contact the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (01326 221361) or BDMLR (01825 765546) for help.

Let’s make sure our beaches stay safe for both dogs and wildlife. 🌍💙

Toby is available for adoption! 🏡

✨ Name: Toby
🐶 Breed: Tibetan Mastiff
🎂 Age: 5 years
💖 Personality: Toby has a playful spirit, and likes playing with teddies and tug toys. He likes to greet his friends with a big wagging tail, a play bow, and a cheeky glint in his eye.
👫 Perfect match: Toby would be best suited to a home where someone is around for most of the time, with no other pets and ideally where any children are older teenagers.
📍 Currently at: Clacton-on-Sea

💬 Toby says:
"Hi! I’m Toby. I do like an occasional run and when I do my chops go flying in the wind! Don’t worry though...I don’t get up to very fast speeds and I’m not a massively high energy dog so there’ll be no need to whizz me off around an agility course. I’ll be more than chuffed with a garden to sunbathe and snooze in. If so far I’ve intrigued you and you think I could be the guy you’re looking for then I can’t wait to hear from you!"

Tommy is available for adoption! 🏡

✨ Name: Tommy
🐶 Breed: Husky
🎂 Age: 12 years
💖 Personality: Despite being 12, our vets think Tommy could be younger as he is certainly young at heart! Tommy still has that classic Husky charm - alert, intelligent, and full of quiet dignity.
👫 Perfect match: Tommy is looking for a quiet, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness and care. Tommy would be best as the only pet in the home, with no cats please.
📍 Currently at: Berkshire

💬 Tommy says:
"Hi! I’m Tommy. I came in as a stray, and my microchip told the team at NAWT that I am 12 years old. However, they tell me they couldn't be more surprised! I am a puppy at heart, and am always jolly and affectionate, ready to brighten up your day. I love walks, companionship, and all the cuddles with my humans. I am a loyal companion who will reward you with unconditional love and a wagging tail every single day. I can't wait to meet you!"

💔 Meet Art – a 2-year-old Angora rabbit who arrived with us in a heart-breaking state. His beautiful fur was so matted his back legs were tied together, leaving him in pain and struggling to move. Under sedation, our team worked to free him, uncovering red, raw skin and further health issues, including serious dental abscesses.

Now in foster care, Art is learning to hop again and slowly regaining his trust in people. But he urgently needs specialist veterinary treatment to give him the pain-free future he deserves. 🐇💙

Every pound donated will go directly towards Art’s care. Please, if you can, help transform his life from neglect and pain to comfort and love.

👉 Donate today and be part of Art’s journey to healing.

⭐SPECIAL HOME NEEDED⭐

Rei is available for adoption! 🏡

✨ Name: Rei
🐹 Breed: Guinea Pig
🎂 Age: 5 years
💖 Personality: Rei is very friendly, and confident. When you walk in the room he will run over to see you, and will happily accept a nose rub and a cuddle.
👫 Perfect match: Rei has some medical needs, so is hopeful for a kind and caring owner who can help him live comfortably. He is also used to living indoors in a nice spacious cage, and would also love to live with a fellow guinea pig pal.
📍 Currently at: Watford

💬 Rei says:
"Hi! I’m Rei. I'm really hoping someone will be willing to adopt me in spite of my medical needs, as I so desperately want a loving home. I am a cheeky boy, and I have to wheak away loudly to remind my fosterer to go and get the veggies, can you believe she tries to tell me I only need them once a day!? It's always veggie o'clock as far as this little piggie is concerned! If you have room in your heart for a sweet little rescue guinea pig like me, please apply for me today."

Finley is available for adoption! 🏡

✨ Name: Finley
🐶 Breed: Pyrenean Mountain Dog Cross

💖 Personality: Finley is a friendly boy who enjoys cuddles with his favourite people. He has shown an interest in playtime and toys, and enjoys going for a walk in the countryside.
👫 Perfect match: Finley is looking for an adult only home, and would also be best as the only pet. He would need a secure garden that he can zoomie around in.
📍 Currently at: Clacton-on-Sea

💬 Finley says:
"Hi potential future forever friend...it’s me...Finley! I know what you’re thinking...what a handsome pooch! You wouldn’t be wrong of course, although what exactly makes up a big handsome guy like me is a bit of a mystery. I’m a little bit like a retriever and come with big retriever energy...but I am quite the bit bigger! If you think I could be the fluffy fella for you then I can’t wait to hear from you!"

Our Story

The National Animal Welfare Trust rescues and rehomes over 1,200 homeless pets in the UK every year. During an animal’s time in rescue, we work hard to provide them with training, rehabilitative care and enrichment that will help them through a difficult period of their lives and prepare them for life in a new home. We operate a safe, non-judgemental environment and never stop caring.

Although we've been helping animals for 47 years, we are never complacent and constantly seek new, innovative ideas we can implement to improve our work and help more animals.

Open Paw was one such innovation; originally developed in the US, we're proud to be UK pioneers for the project and recently given a seal of approval from Open Paw Co-Founder Kelly Gorman-Dunbar as ‘a centre of excellence and ambassador for Open Paw in the UK'.

Open Paw works to improve the lives of animals during their time in rescue, train them and prepare them for life in a new home. http://www.nawt.org.uk/
