A busy day yesterday with 4 hours of driving. Two injured (paralysed?) cats, another two abandoned on the doorstep-all at Goddards Mandeville UB5 within 24 hours. All transported to Animal Support Angels in Hemel Hempstead and went to another rescue up north.

Our own disabled cat needed vets too: she’s deaf and she’s been whacked in the eye. Hopefully the meds are going to solve the issue as she really doesn’t need to be deaf, blind, toothless and elderly, and surrounded by random cats she doesn’t know, and who don’t know she’s harmless.

This is pretty standard for cats brought to a new home.
We ensure that cats in our care eat the correct, carnivore appropriate diet, but at the same time we always have all kinds of garbage food ready. Because some cats won’t touch Michelin restaurant food, but they will take interest in Felix or Whiskas, which is regarded as poisonous food. We keep everything ready and if need be, we force feed cats too.

Eating and p*eing in the first 24 hours is incredibly important, when a new kitty arrives.

Little Tori, posing with her namesake Tori Amos’ CDs! 🙈🎹
We can’t quite believe this, but it looks like she’s actually found a home! We’ve already done the house check, and if meeting her goes well tomorrow, she is going to join a lovely family!
So glad that we didn’t put her back after neutering her-we thought we’ll be stuck with her for many months, but she got really lucky and it took only one month at the shelter to land a new life. She’s just had her second vaccine and her third health check done last Tuesday, so it’s all perfect timing. Keeping fingers crossed for her! 🤞🏻♥️

*** FOR ADOPTION **+
Tori is a sweet and cuddly female, who came into our care with her friend/sister, after spending months living in someone’s garden and living off scraps. The vet has estimated her age as 1 year old.

Tori is extremely affectionate and she loves human company to the point that she’s crying for us, sitting locked in the cat pen.

Tori is being offered for adoption:
-neutered
-FIV/FeLV blood tested and negative on both viruses
-fully vaccinated
-flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products
-microchipped
-she comes with 4 weeks pet insurance

She’s fine as a single cat, and she tolerates other cats too. She’s not shy, she’s food motivated and she follows humans for attention. She’s very easy going and gentle.

Indoor or outdoor homes are welcome, as long as safety measures are observed.

If you’re interested in adopting Tori (or both girls: Tori and Lori, who is FIV+), please fill up our adoption application form:

Lori the FIV+ girl from Wembley. She’s in our cat pen with her friend (sister?) Tori, who’s FIV negative.
They are both extremely affectionate and friendly. And desperate for a home.

We have been told by the vet to keep her on high quality food and she’s been on Sinulox antibiotic, and we are to revisit the issue of her gums.

Days are getting colder and soon we are going to have to bring the girls into our home.

Lori the FIV+ girl can be adopted any time, if anyone would be willing to help her.

Tori just needs her second vaccine and she’ll be ready on the 4-th November.

Sebastian’s younger siblings have been neutered yesterday. Both are doing well, one turned out to be a boy (excellent news for post surgery care as I’m currently feeling like a zombie, fighting a bad cold).

Well done Goddards Wembley for securing the windows properly! You can tell a cat owner to not to pull their cat out of the carrier, but people are going to „know better” and do whatever they want. Yesterday was also one of the days when someone brought their cat loose in the car. I’ve seen this loads of times. THE most important item to have at home is a safe and metal or plastic cat carrier (because you can’t transport a broken bone in a material one, or because cats p*e and poo in them). How is this not obvious is beyond me, but I was just glad to see their windows protected for WHEN a barking dog walks in, because… it’s a veterinary practice. First time in Wembley (it’s really too far for us but this was the only place where we could have booked them in)-very nice.

The kittens are growing, they are looking for their forever homes, they are feral and they hate people, but we do our best. Essentially, they don’t need a rescue to deal with them while feeling depressed about it, they need a human being to love them and to work with them for a few months. They are responding very well and they should be „normal” by the spring, IF they get the right kind of care.

Sebastian’s mum. This is how close they all are to the motorway.
