☀️ Warm weather alert for our furry friends! ☀️
With temperatures rising in the next few days, it’s important to keep our dogs safe in the heat. Dogs can overheat quickly and can’t tell us when they’re struggling.
Helpful tips to keep your pup safe:
• Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water and make sure they have access to shade.
• Avoid exercising during the hottest parts of the day — early morning or late evening walks are best.
• Test the pavement with the back of your hand. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws!
• Never leave your dog in a parked car, even with the windows cracked.
• Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting. If you see these, get them to a cool area and call your vet immediately.
Our dogs rely on us to keep them safe when the weather heats up. A little extra care goes a long way!
