New to The Pawtrait Sitter? 🐾

If this is your first time using a pet sitter, it’s completely understandable if you have a few questions or feel a little unsure about how it all works.

I never expect a pet to instantly settle with me. The first few visits are about getting to know each other, building trust and learning what makes them feel comfortable.

The more you can tell me about their routine, quirks and what they're like when you're not there, the better. There’s no such thing as too much information!

My aim is for you to feel just as comfortable as your dog does.

If you’re thinking about booking for the first time, pop me a message and I’ll happily talk you through everything. ❤️

Well today's weather has hit us with the autumn vibes! ⛈️

And with September just around the corner, it's a good time to start thinking about what your dog’s routine will look like once school and work schedules kick back in.

If your dog has got used to having company for most of the day, suddenly being left alone for much longer can be a big adjustment.

Getting regular walks or visits now can help ease them back into that routine gradually, rather than trying to sort everything out once September arrives.

If this sounds like something you might need to get into place, drop me a message and let's get their September routine sorted. 🐾

It’s easy to forget that dogs don't all enjoy the same things we do.

Some a social buttlerflies who like the excitement of a group walk and the company of other dogs.

Others would much prefer a quieter walk with plenty of time to sniff and undivided attention from the walker.

Both ways are great and neither is better.

But this is why it’s important for me to know what your dog actually enjoys, what they're comfortable with and what gives them a positive experience.

Let me know what your dog prefers... their own space or are they happier with a few friends? 🐾

Please tell me I’m not the only one??! 🤣

Let's be honest... when was the last time you actually checked your dog's microchip details? 👀

It's one of those jobs we all mean to do, but it often gets pushed to the bottom of the list.
The chip itself is only part of the equation. If your contact details aren't up to date, it can't help reunite you with your dog if they ever go missing.
If you've:
🐾 Moved house
🐾 Changed your phone number
🐾 Updated your email address
🐾 Rehomed your dog..it's worth taking a couple of minutes today to check everything is correct.
Hopefully you'll never need it, but if the unexpected happens, you'll be glad you did.

Have you checked yours recently, or have I just reminded you? Let me know in the comments and feel free to share this post with another dog owner who might need the nudge. 🐾

September might feel a little way off, but for many dogs, the change starts long before the school run and office commute begin.

After weeks of having people at home more often, a sudden return to longer days alone can be a big adjustment. Some dogs cope well, while others need a little extra support to help them settle into a new routine.

Starting regular walks, pop-in visits or pet sitting before your routine changes gives your dog the chance to build trust, confidence and consistency gradually, rather than everything changing over night.

If you're planning a return to the office or your routine will be changing this September, now is the perfect time to get your dog's care arranged. I'd love to chat about how I can help make the transition as smooth as possible. 🐾

Running a small business means every regular booking, every recommendation and every kind word genuinely makes a difference. 💛

To all of our wonderful regular clients... thank you.

Thank you for trusting us with your pets, welcoming us into your homes and allowing me to be part of your pets' routines.
Watching them grow in confidence, getting excited when we arrive and building those relationships is one of the best parts of what we do.

As a little thank you, I'm running a referral offer throughout August.
If you know someone who's looking for a reliable dog walker, pet sitter or someone to pop in and care for their pet while they're at work, I'd be so grateful if you sent them my way.

If they book with me, you'll both receive £5 off your next booking. It's my way of saying thank you for supporting my little business.

Just send me a message with the word "REFER" and I'll send you all the details. 🐾💛

One of the things I hear most from clients is how much they appreciate the updates. 💛

Knowing your dog has been walked, had their lunch, been for a toilet break or is happily snoozing on the sofa gives you one less thing to worry about while you're busy.

I always send photos and updates after my visits because I know how reassuring it is to see your dog happy, relaxed and well cared for. It's not an added extra, it's part of the service I believe every owner deserves.

Because when you're away from your pet, peace of mind matters just as much as the care they receive. 🐾

If you're looking for reliable pet care with regular updates included, I'd love to hear from you 😊

Trust isn't built in one visit, it's built over time. 🐾

Every walk, pop-in and house sit helps your dog feel more confident with a familiar person and a familiar routine. That's why consistency matters so much, especially for dogs who find being left a little tricky.

Thinking ahead can make all the difference. If you'd like to introduce your dog to a regular sitter before you need one, just send me a message. 💛
