We believe this is referred to as ‘cleansing your feed’? 🌱

No message other than a reminder to take some time to tune into nature’s frequencies every now and then!

Happy Thursday all 🌷

CAN YOU HELP US GET ON THE ROAD AGAIN? 🛻

Cheers truck, Alex is crying! We hate to see our wonderful Sites Manager in this hysterical state… Can you help?

Our trusty Farm Truck has served us well, but its time has come to an abrupt end. We don’t need anything too fancy, just a working small pick-up or panel van with a tow bar.

On a more serious note, this has put a stop to our Livestock activity on the Farm at a crucial moment. If you can help out, please get in touch or share with your networks. Send us a DM or email [email protected] 📧

Cheers very much!

Want to trade at our Winter Fair?

Our Winter Fair is back at the Farm on Watercress Road, with a seasonal street market, family activities, live music, entertainment, food and, of course, our famous Mulled Wine Bar. 🍷✨

We’re looking for independent traders selling crafts, gifts and homeware, particularly businesses offering local, organic and ethically sourced products that are kind to people and planet. 🌱

We’re prioritising non-food and cold-food traders (think cakes and bakes), as our fundraising event includes hot food and drink and alcohol for immediate consumption.

If you’re a food trader who can provide your own power, or you’re happy with a non-powered pitch, we’d still love to hear from you!

We have a limited number of stalls and select traders to create a varied market, so submitting an application doesn’t guarantee a space.

Grow your own little patch of wildness! 🌼

Our Tuesday Gardening Group have put together a wildflower seed mix which you can buy now in the Farm Shop located on our site! Each purchase goes directly toward the core costs that keep our charity running.

We are also taking part in this year’s Get Growing Trail (slide 4) alongside lots of other amazing local growing projects and community farming spaces. Come and drop by on the weekend of 12th and 13th September 🌱

Why grow wildflowers?

- Flowers provide valuable food for pollinating insects and other wildlife.

- Even a small patch can make a difference. Wildflowers can be grown in a border or even in containers.

- Many of the flowers in our mix are easy-to-grow annuals. Cornflowers, calendula and nigella, for example, can be sown directly outdoors.

- Letting flowers finish and set seed can give you another flush of plants next year, as well as providing food for seed-eating birds.

How to sow your seeds:

Choose a sunny spot and clear it of weeds and large stones. Rake the soil to create a fine, crumbly surface, scatter the seeds thinly, then gently firm them into the soil. Don’t bury them deeply; many wildflower seeds need light to germinate. Keep the soil gently watered while they’re getting established.

When to sow?

Now! For many wildflower mixes, early autumn or spring are good times to sow. Autumn sowing can mean an earlier display the following year.

A meditative moment before the day’s chaos 🧘

For our staff here at the Farm, Wednesday mornings begin with some silent, slow movement. Each week, S, one of our Supported Farming and Green Care participants, leads us in a short Tai Chi practice. Sometimes, the goats even join in, although slow and silent isn’t really their strong suit! Huge shoutout to S for one of our favourite office moments of the week 💛
