📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Pet Travel to the EU 📢

From today, new rules apply for travelling with pets from Great Britain to the EU. 🌎

If you are a GB resident, you can no longer use an EU-issued pet passport—even if it was issued before 22 April 2026. 🐾

➡️ Instead, you will need to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for your pet for each trip.

If you’re planning a trip or have any questions, please contact our team—we’re happy to help guide you through the new requirements. 📞

A tribute to Freya 🐾💛

Freya’s story is one we will never forget. 💛

Back in 2021, Freya’s family faced every owner’s worst fear. Within just a matter of hours, she went from being slightly unsteady on her feet to losing the ability to walk completely. The initial concern was a serious spinal condition with a very poor outlook. ⚠️

She was urgently referred to us, and after further investigation, we discovered that Freya was instead suffering from two slipped discs compressing her spinal cord — a life-threatening condition, but one we knew we had a chance to treat. 🩺

Freya underwent complex spinal surgery, which initially went well. However, her recovery was slower than we had hoped, and during this time she required intensive supportive care, including a feeding tube. After careful monitoring, a second, higher-risk surgery was recommended to give her the very best chance of walking again. 🏥

Her family made the incredibly difficult decision to proceed. 🤍

What followed was months of dedication, resilience, and unwavering love. Freya’s recovery didn’t end at surgery — her family provided round-the-clock care, turning her through the night, helping her outside, and supporting her every step of the way. With physiotherapy, patience, and determination, she began to regain strength. 💪

Slowly, there were signs of progress — small movements, little sparks of hope. A month in, she started to move again. A few months later, she was taking her first steps. 🌱

And then, incredibly, Freya got her life back. ✨

Within six months, she was back to being herself — enjoying walks, playing, and sharing life’s moments with her family once again. For the next four years, she lived a full, happy, and active life, filled with adventures and love. 🐾

We were recently saddened to hear that Freya passed away on December 4th, following unrelated health issues that affected her quality of life. She was 9¼ years old. 🌈

Her family shared words that mean so much to us — that the surgery gave them four extra years with her. There is no greater privilege than being able to give that time. 💛

Freya’s journey is a testament to strength, trust, and the incredible bond between pets and their families. It was an honour to be part of her story. 🤍

Our thoughts are with her family, and we thank them for allowing us to share her journey. 💫

Run free, Freya 🌈🐾

Easter Pet Hazards Reminder⚠️🐣

Easter is a time for celebration—but it can bring a few hidden risks for our pets too! Curious noses and tasty treats don’t always mix well. 🍫

From sweet treats and baked goods to decorations and leftovers, there are plenty of things that can make pets unwell if they get their paws on them. Even small amounts can sometimes cause serious problems. 🐾

⚠️ Keep an eye out for:
Unusual behaviour, vomiting, diarrhoea, restlessness, or lethargy.

🚨 If you’re concerned:
Don’t wait—contact your vet for advice as soon as possible. Acting quickly can make all the difference.
