*Important Animal Welfare Notice During Hot Weather* π₯΅ π₯ βοΈ
If you visit our unit during periods of hot weather, you may notice that some of our heat lamps and UV lighting are switched off, which can make the room look a little darker than usual.
As reptiles are ectothermic (cold-blooded), they do require heat to regulate their body temperature. But too much heat can be extremely dangerous and, in some cases, even fatal. During warmer periods, ambient temperatures can already be high enough without additional heating, so we may reduce or switch off certain equipment to keep our animals safe and comfortable.
Animal welfare is always our highest priority. Because of this, if temperatures become too high, some animals may not be available for handling or may remain in their vivariums for the duration of your session. This applies both to visits at our unit and mobile experiences.
We closely monitor temperatures within our unit and during mobile sessions. If conditions become too hot for the safe welfare of our animals and customers, we may need to cancel or adjust sessions. Where a cancellation is necessary due to unsafe temperatures, refunds will be provided where applicable.
We appreciate your understanding as the health and wellbeing of our animals will always come first. π π’ π¦
