The Day Walkers supporting Multiple System Atrophy Trust.
One of our wonderful members Sarah, her dogs Zip and Dude and her friend Susanna recently completed the Hadrian’s Wall Challenge to raise money in memory of their loved one, Kaz
The team walked an incredible 91 miles from Carlisle to Wallsend, Tyneside, following the route of Hadrian’s Wall. Although the wall itself stretches for 84 miles, additional miles were added as some of their accommodation was located a couple of miles off the main route. Averaging around 15 miles a day, they completed the challenge in just six days!
Reflecting on the experience, Sarah said:
“We pushed ourselves physically and mentally, but it’s nothing compared to what people living with MSA face every day.”
The challenge was also full of new experiences for Zip and Dude. From taxi rides and train journeys to navigating busy stations and meeting lots of people who wanted to say hello, the dogs took everything in their stride.
Despite a few setbacks along the way, including Dude cutting his paw and possibly injuring his shoulder, both dogs showed incredible determination and completed the challenge in style
Sarah could not be prouder of her four-legged companions.
Congratulations to Sarah, Susanna, Zip and Dude on this fantastic achievement and for raising funds and awareness in memory of their loved one.
What an inspiring accomplishment! 🐾👏❤️
