Due to the strong reputation we established we started to get enquiries for our services from further and further afield. With the rapid growth, the founder, Becca Wilson, decided to franchise the business to ensure that standards could be kept as high a

s possible whilst allowing the business to grow in a more controlled manner. We are now an award winning pet care company covering a large area of the South of the UK and parts of Wales. Our Bridgwater Team was started in March 2018 and is managed by Kim, who has been with Friends For Pets since the team started. Our Pet Carers are DBS checked, fully Insured and we have had references obtained for them. New Pet Carers also undergo training in pet first aid, nutrition, behaviour and handling as well as many other subjects through our sister company, The Pet Academy. They also attend in-house monthly training or refresher courses. Unlike some other pet care companies we will not arrive at your home in a marked vehicle, therefore announcing your empty home. For our dog walking services (as with most other dog walking companies) we are insured to walk up to six dogs in a group, but as a company we walk on a one-one basis or much smaller groups to maintain your dogs safety and welfare.

Our society is much more dog friendly now, which is amazing when it comes to planning days out for the kids, especially in the holidays! We love trying out new days out and I have to say Doniford Farm Park is one of our firm favourites that we visit on a monthly basis.

You also won't believe it, but it's actually FREE! 🌟🌟

It is a wonderful farm with a variety of animals right on the coast. You can purchase food to feed the goats, donkeys, ponies etc. They have an amazing farm shop where they sell lots of local produce including cider, homemade cakes and pastries.
The restaurant is also so good, we have heard wonderful reviews of their carvery's so that is definitely on our weekend itinerary soon 🍺🧁 All of the staff are so friendly and really make you feel welcome, whether its dogs, kids or adults!

Dogs are only allowed in the outside areas, but they do have a fab undercover seating area where they can be if the weather was to be a bit showery. There is also a play barn, this is an extra cost, but well worth a visit for your kids to run off some extra steam.

If anyone else has anymore dog/family friendly recommendations we are always eager to find new local days out!

The Cardiff team is managed by Catherine. Originally from Devon but has lived in Cardiff for 15 years with her husband, two children and pets.
Always had pets in her life in particular dogs. A massive dog lover she began volunteering at Cardiff Dogs Home where she has walked all types of breeds large and small. Whilst inducted was given basic dog handling training. This is where she met her beloved crossbreed rescue Tess who she adopted.🐾🐶

Not many dog owners know that if you are paying someone to look after your dog at their home then they need to have a license or be boarding under an arranger license (in England, Wales and Scotland, they still need individual licenses). All licensed boarders hold a license from their local authority that they will be able to show you if you ask. This is true for even the large, online agencies. Those signed up should have individual boarding licenses.

This license shows:-
🐾 that they have valid insurance (the insurance won't be valid if they don't hold a license),
🐾 that they will limit the number of the dogs they have for the safety and welfare of the dog,
🐾 that they have procedures and policies in place to protect your dog
🐾 that their home and garden have been inspected as safe for your dog.

Ask when booking to see the license.
